Rhukaan Draal

Rhukaan Draal is the capital city of Darguun. It is the seat of Darguun's leader Lhesh Haruuc Shaarat'kor and his clan the Rhukaan Taash. It was previously the location of a Cyran frontier settlement in the land claimed by the Mur Talaan, but was claimed as the seat of Darguun when Haruuc led the uprising.   House Orien had built a trade road to the settlement prior to it's occupation, but most of the roads and streets within it are paved dirt. The city has few of the technological innovations that are present in the other Thronehold nations. There is a mismatch of architectural styles as the inhabitants have built up their homes from whatever materials were available, both on empty ground and building upon the pre-existing Cyran buildings. At the center of the city is the palace fortress of Khaar Mbar'ost, commissioned from House Cannith, whose ten stories dominate the skyline.   Rhukan Draal is a metropolis with almost as much racial diversity as Sharn. The culture of the goblinoids is refreshing to many, where you are recognised for who you are and what you do, rather than where you come from. The people of Darguun don't care if you're a human or a tiefling, a dwarf or a gnome, a hobgoblin or an orc. They respect what you've done and what you do, if you are respectful then you will be treated with respect, and if you cause trouble, you'll be treated like a troublemaker.   The trade district of Rhukaan Draal is called Khaari Batuuvk, or the "Bloody Market", which gets it's name from the often violent haggling that occurs between the goblinoids. Despite the name, however, blood is rarely actually spilled in the market, and the guards will usually intervene before anybody is killed if things get out of hand.
