Masvirik, the Cold Sun
Masvirik, the Cold Sun, is one of the Overlords who ruled over all of Eberron during the Age of Demons. Masvirik was bound by the dragons and couatl after they jointly discovered the Draconic Prophecy, and the couatl sacrificed themselves to form the Silver Flame.
Masvirik is the Cold Sun. It consumes the light, and it is is also about our fears of what slithers in the darkness. It holds dominion over all cold-blooded creatures, which can only survive by it's grace when it has consumed the life giving light of the sun, and the warmth that it brings. It has been mostly forgotten by those outside of the lizardfolk tribes of the Masvirik'uala.
Shortly after Masvirik was bound, the black dragon Rhashaak was dispatched to act as it's guardian. Three thousand years after Rhashaak's watch began, Masvirik slipped it's bonds and achieved a partial release. Confronted by Rhashaak, this event triggered the activation of a fail-safe mechanism left behind by the couatl, awakening the shared dream of the lizardfolk and infusing the dawn shards of Q'barra with the power of the Silver Flame. It was too late for Rhashaak, however, who was twisted and warped by the Cold Sun.
Masvirik is bound within Haka'torvhak in Q'barra, and it's minions continue to clash with the Masvirik'uala as they work to free Masvirik.
