Rhashaak

Rhashaak is an ancient black dragon who resides within the ancient demonic city of Haka'torvhak. He was barely an adult when he was sent to Q'barra by the Conclave of Argonessen to reinforce the wards and guard the prison of Masvirik, the Cold Sun, several thousand years ago.   It is not known when exactly Rhashaak first came to Q'barra, or how long he had been maintaining his vigil over the Cold Sun. The Trothlorsvek claim that their empire lasted for thousands of years, and Rhashaak came to Q'barra with them originally. This is significantly longer than the average lifespan of a dragon, however, so it's possible that their records are simply inaccurate. Alternatively, it could be that Rhashaak found some way to extend his life far beyond what would normally be possible for a dragon.   The balance of power between Rhashaak and Masvirik shifted dramatically 9000 years ago, as Masvirik awoke and overwhelmed the wards that held it in place. Rhashaak was forced to directly confront the overlord, and by the end of their battle, Rhashaak was infused with the overlord's foul power. The battle fought between Rhashaak and Masvirik activated an ancient failsafe of the Couatl, infusing the vast supply of Eberron shards in Q'barra with the energy of the Silver Flame, reinforcing the binding on Masvirik, and awakening the shared dream of the Masvirik'uala.   The lizardfolk have maintained their guardianship of Q'barra ever since, constantly fighting the forces of the Cold Sun and protecting the dawn shards that imprison it. Rhashaak has remained within Haka'torvhak since his conflict with Masvirik, and it seems that he is now both warden and prisoner. Rare reports from explorers and survivors of conflict with the Poison Dusk confirm that Rhashaak is still very much alive, however.
