Kyojin
Kyojin is a member of the Horned Guard, an elite force from Riedra that is composed entirely of Oni. He has spent his entire life living under the Path of Inspiration. As a result, he believes that his body is a living prison for an altavar, and that he keeps this fiend contained only through devotion and service to the Inspired. If he lives his life well, he could redeem the altavar.
He was sent to Khorvaire alongside a party of diplomats in 997 YK, and spent much of his time in the Riedran embassy in Wroat, acting as a bodyguard for the diplomats. In the wake of the Day of Mourning, he and a squad of Riedrans, led by the Inspired Adashara, were sent into the Mournland to investigate the psionic signal being broadcast from Seaside.
When the Riedrans approached the Guiding Light, the spirit of Nashana bound within the Khyber Shard assaulted Kyojin's mind, and forced him to turn on his comrades. He slaughtered his squad, and when he came to, he was overcome with grief. He stood vigil over their corpses for many nights, until the Mist Walkers arrived. They defeated him and bound him, stripping him of his weapons and armour, before performing a ritual to release the spirits of the dead trapped within the Guiding Light. When the fighting was done, they released him.
