Cyre

Before the Last War, Cyre was the seat of the Kingdom of Galifar's government. Wealth and resources flowed from the entire kingdom and into Cyre, and it served as a nexus for commerce and culture. Of all of the nations involved in the Last War, Cyrans could take pride in the fact that they and no other were in the right, Princess Mishann was the rightful heir to the throne. This is poor comfort for most Cyrans, however, as they undoubtedly lost more in the war than anybody else.   Cyre represented the best that Galifar had to offer, taken from all across the kingdom. In a lot of ways, Cyre was an amalgamation of the other nations that made up the kingdom of Galifar, not just copying that which the other nations did, but innovating and building upon their ideas. Cyre couldn't match the martial discipline of Karrnath, or the sheer magical might of Aundair, but it's diverse history meant that Cyre's forces were more versatile and less specialised than the other nations.   Industrially, Cyre was known for it's art, and it's artifice. The nation housed the headquarters of both House Cannith and House Phiarlan. The Cyran motto, "what our dreams imagine, our hands create" was largely accurate, and the world is made poorer by the loss.   Although the Sovereign Host was the dominant religion in Cyre, the Church of the Silver Flame also had a significant following. Many of those who survived the Mourning found themselves questioning their faith, whilst others found that the disaster bolstered their faith.   Queen Dannel ir'Wynarn was in Metrol on the Day of Mourning, and is presumed dead, though her body has never been recovered from the ruins. Her son, and last surviving member of the Cyran royal line, is Prince Oargev ir'Wynarn. Oargev currently holds court in New Cyre, a refugee camp turned settlement in eastern Breland, mostly populated by survivors from the Mourning.   Not all who survived the Mourning have taken up residence in New Cyre, however. Many Cyrans now live across Khorvaire, integrating into the societies and cultures of their new homes.
