Vander grew up in a mansion with his powerful and wealthy family, the Fennauts, they have been around for centuries, not really caring for the world outside their walls too much, just focussed on doing what they want to do. His mother was loving and kind, she taught him almost everything that he knows, however, his father was cold and calculated, only seeming to care for his own power and growth, he showed now love to Vander, his siblings or even his wife.
Although this was the case, Vander didn't mind too much since it was the only thing that he knew, but recently, his father had become even more distant and cruel, eventually leading to him sacrificing his wife. This enraged Vander as this with the only source of love in his life, but instead of doing something foolish, he plotted to run away and try to get strong enough or smart enough to get revenge.
