The Shadow Court

The Shadow Court is a faction of Faeries that have grown restless with the current state of affairs in Reverie. They believe that the only way to be truly free from captivity again is to bring the fight to these races and eradicate them all, returning Tamia back to its rightful inhabitants. Their dark feelings and attitudes have actually taken root in more faeries then the Queen would like to admit, garnering a hush hush policy throughout Reverie. In the Shadow Court, the same level of paranoia has taken hold. Faeries that come to them are grilled and tested for loyalty, weeding through the plants and spies of the Faerie Queen. They send applicants on missions to steal, harm, sometimes even destroy things just to prove that they are willing to do whatever it takes to be a part of the new realm.

A Silent War

The quiet war between the Shadow Court and the Queen's forces takes place behind the smiling façade of dancing and partying. Most of the faeries never know that the two sides fight silently against each others resolve and go about their care free day in ignorant bliss. The Shadow Court wants to change this. They would have all faeries know that they want to fight for their chance to go back to the world, to slay the elves for what they have done. Yet their numbers aren't enough to fight the forces keeping them down....for now.

Structure

The Shadow Court has titles and structure only so far as there are leaders within it. It is run by the Ravenlord and under him are usually a Leftwing, and a Rightwing. Below them are the Feathers, the faeries that have been given the job of recruiting others.

History

The Shadow Court came about the third year of what they term Banishment. The Ravenlord watched his own mother wither and die, not being able to go back to the world she loved. (Some faeries just couldn't take the isolation) and he vowed then and there that he would make it right. He started slowly, whispering here and there into faeries ears about the sweet promise of revenge for what the races did to them. He had forgotten about the sacrifice of the humans, and focused instead on the vile elves and their torture. After 10 years, the Shadow Court had enough members to start having secret meetings and start sabotage. It had begun.

A Dark God

Unknown to most of the Shadow Court, its leader, the Ravenlord, doesn't worship Syll like all of the other faeries. Long ago in his grief over the death of his mother he turned to another, darker God. Krist. In this he found a satisfaction, a deep understanding that the God wanted him to make the elves pay. Because of this the Shadow Court has access to stronger magic than most faeries, though most of them don't even know it. Members of the Shadow Court may cast curses unintentionally. Whenever a faeries of this court whispers a curse, even if they don't mean it, it takes hold on the person they said it to. This cannot be taken back.
