Priest

Written by Salen

A Priest or Holy man is a divine servant of their God. They work the will of their God in their everyday lives, and strive to live their life through the tenants of that religion. They start their career as lowly acolytes, helping with the day to day things running a church entails and strive to reach higher levels in the priesthood. Each Priesthood has different titles one can aspire to after Acolyte, such as Priest in the Church of Light (Dava), or Shadow in the Church of Secrets (Nor)

(Syll was already here, but that's a debate for another day). Since that time Priests have been working their deities will and promoting their word in every city and every alley.

The Loner

Priests that do not join any particular church do exist, but are called Clerics by the priests in those churches. They receive no special titles, nor do they receive any special shelter or healing by churches (even by their own religion, much to the anger of some of the Gods) Why then would anyone walk this lonely path? The Calling. The Calling is different for everyone, but it signifies the God talking directly to the person and asking them to fulfill a special task or quest. This is usually a lifelong thing, and the ties of the church may actually hold them back. They can still receive prayers, but are shunned by the church for life.
