The Obsidian Doctrine was the declaration of policy of Farenai, which included independence from Delos'Nordan, echoing the words of the Emerald Declaration.

Uniquely, the Obsidian Doctrine laid out far broader policy for Farenai, declaring not only its independence but its isolation, its neutrality, and its doctrine of "intervention only in case of trespass." To this day, the borders of Farenai remain closed at penalty of death, though certain port cities and limited trade routes have become open to public access.
