Bratsosaurus

Bratsosaurus dixoni

Bratsosaurus dixoni (Dixon's Arm Lizard) is the last species of sauropodomorph left on Juland, descendant from treetop browsers which used the trunk-like appendage on their nasal to pull branches into their mouth. Bratsosaurus has evolved a complex digestive system similar to cattle to help break down and digest the tough grasses of the savannah, their trunk, although now shortened, is used to grab large quantities of grass at the base of the stem and place them in its mouth. This adaptation has proven efficient enough to fuel these 23 meter giants.

Large herds led by matriarchs and made up by females, young and satellite males march across the Juland Savannah, shaping the environment around them. A single herd can turn a tall grass field into a dustbowl in under a week. Deeper into the interior of Juland sees periods of desert conditions due to lack of water and foliage to keep the ground stable because of these behemoths.

Adults have virtually no predators outside of wandering kaiju, however calves are vulnerable at a young age. To avoid predation as eggs, Bratsosaurus like Skull Islands Brontosaurus give birth to live young which are capable of walking within the hour they're born.

Bratsosaurus rarely drink water, gaining most of their water from the grasses they eat, which possess roots that store moisture to assist in surviving the dry season. However when they do drink water, their trunk can be used similar to how elephants use them. Young calves have been observed playing by spraying each other with water.
