Advanced Human

A species so similar to humans, that they mostly go unidentified. When a Sunwalker, Celestial or Vampire is introduced, their great-grandchildren (the 4th generation) will be advanced humans.
  • Celestial/Vampire = Generation 1
  • Children = Generation 2 = Demi/Half-breeds and Type Four Sunwalkers
  • Grandchildren = Generation 3 = Quarter-bloods and Type Fours
  • Great-grandchildren = Generation 4 = Advanced humans
Anyone past this 4th generation is also an advanced human. Once celestial, vampire or sunwalker blood has been introduced, it cannot be erased, and past the 4th generation, it doesn’t grow weaker either.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Aside from seers, no advanced human has any identifying marks which might make them appear as non-human. Shifters can be identified, but only if caught mid-shift.

Biological Traits

There are two primary sub-species which are unique to advanced humans: Sirens and Seers.
Every siren has a different base frequency which others are able to identify them by. They are able to manipulate sound waves and are drawn towards each other, often forming small groups averaging 4-10. They are also primarily drawn to careers in the arts industries, most commonly in music. This means that a lot of sirens are musicians in one form or another, some classical instrumentalists, some modern singers or band members, some actors and actresses in musicals. Sirens do not have different coloured eyes, and are generally unaware of their power unless informed. Due to this power, they often forfeit one or more of the other base powers, commonly, having less-than-perfect vision or a lack of athletic ability.

Seers are the cousins of sirens and they share many similar aspects. They are able to manipulate light waves, meaning they are able to see through the outer appearance that a celestial, vampire, sunwalker, healer, demi-breed, half-breed or quarter-blood shows. They are also able to use this power to create illusions and so are sometimes mistaken for shifters, however, their glowing orange eyes stand them apart. Due to this ability, they make terrifying and extremely effective hunters, although like sirens, they are also generally drawn towards art fields and occupy roles such as artists or interior decorators or set designers.

Shifters are not a species unique to advanced humans, however, they make up around 20% of all advanced humans with additional powers (so around 1% of all advanced humans). They are nowhere near as powerful as their celestial, vampire or sunwalker ancestor and they usually have only their base shifting ability, which generally takes the form of an animal. Similar to sirens, shifters are often drawn together, forming packs which vary greatly in size. Some are only a few friends while others can span across cities and have dozens or hundreds of members.

Genetics and Reproduction

Reproduction is the same as any human. Males will age only marginally slower than humans. Females age to 20 and then the aging process slows, meaning that they age one year every four years. Those who choose to Settle into immortality will not age at all, nor will they ever die without intervention.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Base powers are those shared by ALL advanced humans regardless of any additional powers. In fact, additional powers are rare, only occurring in around 5% of all advanced humans. The base powers are: enhanced healing, agility, speed, strength, stamina and senses. Base powers generally manifest around puberty (age 14 is most common) in the Awakening, but additional powers may come in before or after this. Between the ages of seventeen and nineteen, all advanced humans Settle into their full power and gain greater control. Those with additional abilities may also choose to become immortal at this point.
Lifespan
100 years in males and 200 years in females (It is possible for them to become immortal)
