Personal history
Her husband died in a car accident in 2012 and she's never been quite the same. They had been planning on having children (all Jocelyn wanted out of life was to be a mom), but he died before they could conceive. The loss of her husband left Jocelynn devastated and though she's mostly recovered, she carries her grief with her always.

Teaching is the great pride of her life, along with how close she is with her pack members. She cultivates close relationships with everyone in her life, taking pride in unburdening those around her as much as possible.

It is her perceived failure that she still grieves her husband so heavily. She believes she should have been able to move on by now, but she just can't let go of the memory of her husband.
Mental Trauma
Becoming a widow changed her, making her heavier, more grounded, but she's remained strong. She carries on with her life - teaching, cooking, cleaning, painting, reading, etc. Her grief is a constant companion and she suspects it always will be, but she shoulders the weight and leaves a relatively happy life.

Jocelynn and Logan have a relationship built on lies. Jocelynn doesn't know, really, what a piece of shit her brother is. Sometimes she hears things, but she usually makes excuses for him because she just can't accept that her brother is really that awful. It helps that people keep the worst from her because she's so pure that they can't bear to tell her that her brother is a scoundrel. Logan loves her, genuinely, but he's still more selfish than anything.
