Created by Emilia to be able to contain and fire the unusual and volatile ammunition that Jesse uses, as well as other standard and experimental munitions.
Equipped with multiple fire modes, the weapons may fire like a standard gun, using the combustion from a shell casing, with CO2 for things that will explode upon impact, with special ammunition that turns the shell into a beam of light, and with magnetic pulse for even more volatile things or rounds that require activation first. The fourth firing mode allows him to fire off multiple rounds and then detonate them simultaneously with a switch he carries.
These weapons were created to protect or disable as oppsed to killing, though they can be used for both.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

It looks like a gun with LED trim, but each color is a different firing mode.

• Red: Standard firing mode. It shoots standard 9mm rounds. It is definitely Jesse's least favorite mode.
• Green: CO2 mode. The firing switches to that of an airsoft weapon. It can shoot plastic or metal pellets. Great for quiet and/or non-lethal responses.
• Yellow: Beam. As this weapon is small and can't carry a large enough power supply, it uses special munitions that send a light pulse through a special lens. This mode requires a barrel change. This mode also requires Light Slinger Munitions 
• Blue: Gauss. uses Gauss mechanics to fire special munitions, munitions that are usually filled with some payload that Jesse concocted. This mode requires a barrel change and has limited use due to energy consumption.

Manufacturing process

The parts are casts pre-construction, speficically for each project, and assembled by hand with meticulous precision.

History

These dual-pistols were created near the end of Emilia's rehabilitation with her new appendages. They were the first of the custom Variable-Mode Firearms. All of their components were custom-crafted for this project and put together exclusively by hand, albeit a mechanical one.
They are the culmination of her years of mechanical expertise, and the Best finished versions for an upcoming series of weapons, though only 7 other variants of this class of weapon exist, each unique to their recipient.

Significance

These pistols symbolize the bond between Jesse and Emilia. They were forged with Emilia's determination to regain her dexterity and as thanks to Jesse for staying by her side through her recovery and rehabilitation. They also facilitated his need to be able to fire multiple types of ammunition and switch on the fly.
