Katherine Tiffany "Kate" Herald (born 30th April 2049) is a Canadian Operative, employed by Echelon International. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to an upper-middle-class family, she attended primary school and junior high locally. However, after she display a very high aptitude in gymnastics, she transferred to Ross Sheppard for her final few years in school. Her performance in the field of gymnastics and martial arts was noticed by a recruiter for Echelon International. She finished school one year early, and was hired by Echelon the day after her 18th birthday.

Kate Herald was born on the 30th of April, 2049, in Edmonton, Alberta. Her parents, Brendan and Courtney (an architect and lawyer respectively), were unable to spend much time with her past her initial childhood. As soon as primary school, she spent every afternoon enrolled in extracurricular activities. While she cycled through many over the years, her favourites were gymnastics, swimming, and martial arts. She was enrolled at a local primary school, and stayed in it for junior high. However, she developed an exceptional skill at gymnastics, and was able to enrol at Ross Sheppard for senior high.
Outside of school, what little free time she had was occupied with going out with friends, practicing gymnastics, and watching classic movies with her father in their home cinema. In particular, Kate developed an appreciation for spy movies from a young age. Each year, her family would go on a vacation during the winter to another country - usually France, the Bahamas, Hawaii, or Florida. Kate intensely disliked the heat of these holiday destinations, and went swimming and diving as often as she could (where available).
