Hithilium destroyed by the Darkness

Hithilium, which was thought defensible by the Elves, was nigh to the epicenter of the Taint. In a siege that lasted seven days, the greater part of the Elven hosts was lost. The ruins of Hithilium are silent to this day. The survivors fled to the Elvhenor Vale and sealed it with a lasting enchantment that blocks all entry of any unelven creature.
