The fall of Cyrillane was much like the demise of many empires in the past. Cities of the northeastern Sand Kingdoms, once conquered and united under Cyrillane, now again have their independence. During this political tumult, each city-state vies with rivals to establish their own kingdom — or perhaps a new Empire.
Culture is an imagined feudal style mixed with ancient Greek culture. Technology and philosophy is advanced and kept alive by ancient sects who wield their knowledge like a weapon — or craftsman’s tool.
But as the city-states of Athika struggle with one another, the wide rural areas between become more and more dangerous. The desert kingdoms, age-old threats to Athika, are currently weak militarily, but strong economically and it’s corrupting influence grows by the the season.
