Philomon Doran

Philomon Doran is a minor wild god tasked with keeping the Census of Souls. He can occasionally appear in situations where cause or type of death was not evident, or in situations which may cause significant imbalance between life and death. Doran is often thought of as a joke god, with some even referring to him as "He Who Must Know Exactly How Many People Were Killed Please And Thank You" after an embarassing experience in the Third Great War.

Personal history

Doran was once mortal, although little is known about his mortal life, which must have taken place more than a few thousand years ago. It is rumored that he was the organizer of a great census in a society wherein it was believed that overpopulation was a significant issue. It is said that Doran was in charge of the census process, keeping extremely meticulous books. Apparently, he even wrote his census in the blood of some of the victims because he ran out of ink.
Why or how his ascension to godhood happened is unclear, but it may have had something to do with these events. Doran is truly lawfully neutral in regard to almost any situation, as long as it does not mess with his bookkeeping.
