Chef

Chef is a character subclass of Bard. Over many years of training, they have learned the ability to tell the slightest differences in taste and smell, discerning poisoned food and liquid nearly immediately. Chefs often seek out the rarest ingredients in the most dangerous situations, all to perfect their art. In the heat of battle, they can quickly create dishes which heal, inspire, and enpower others and themselves. They can also effectively wield a number of kitchen utensils as makeshift weaponry, including knives, cleavers, mezzalunas, graters, mallets, and skewers.

Materials

Chefs are usually divided into specialties based on the ingredient types they are most familiar with, although generally chefs are competent in all areas of cooking, baking, and other food preparation. Because of this, it is not uncommon to see a chef with two or three areas of focus. These combined effects can have a number of results. For instance, a baker who is also a dairy farmer could imbue garlic bread with some intense magics.   Rotisseurs, often mistakenly called butchers, are chefs that work with meat from terrestrial and aerial creatures. They know the ins and outs of most, knowing what is safe to eat, and what might be dangerous. This knowledge also helps to provide knowledge during combat in regards to taking such creatures down.   Poissoniers work with aquatic creatures. They know the ins and outs of most, knowing what is safe to eat, and what might be dangerous. This knowledge also helps to provide knowledge during combat in regards to taking such creatures down. Poissoniers are used to being underwater, having trained their lungs (if they can't breathe underwater already) and knowing spells related to experiencing the underwater world.   Entremetiers tend to work with vegetables and fruits. They know a wide variety, both on land and in the sea, and can carefully pick out which are nutritious and which are dangerous in a pinch.   Grillardins and frituriers commonly use various types of grills, frying techniques, and heat magics to prepare all kinds of foods.   Sauciers process sauces that can have any of various uses, being extremely flexible in a pinch. They can imbue any dish with a variety of flavors, even to cover up other tastes, such as that of poisons.   Bartenders tend to have well-leveled speech and perception based on having more direct contact with patrons that other chefs, and they can create a number of different cocktail elixirs.   Dairy farmers focus on, naturally, various dairy products, such as milks, cheeses, butters, and yogurts. These can be harvested from creatures they've domesticated, providing a steady source of healing if necessary on longer journeys.
