Akenth’s origins trace back to the cataclysmic First Dragon War (750BE–950BE). As a young but cunning drake, he quickly proved his strategic brilliance, earning a place as Umienth’s favored war leader. During this war, Akenth commanded brutal campaigns against the Fey and their allies, relishing in destruction while studying the arcane energies of the land.
Following Umienth’s transformation into Tiamat, the war reached its climax against Bahamut’s forces. In a battle of divine proportions, the conflict shattered the very essence of Tiamat, fracturing her keys into the Darastrix Sepa—dragonkin believed to be the vessels of the original chromatic dragon souls. Akenth, knowing the implications of this event, spent centuries preparing contingencies that would ensure his influence extended far beyond his mortal existence.

Death & Legacy

Despite his careful planning, Akenth met his demise in 620DH at the hands of a powerful group of adventurers, led by the legendary swordsmen Nabith and Hashiba. His physical form was destroyed, yet his indomitable will remained tethered to the volcanic island of Akadence, where he continued to haunt its fiery peaks, whispering his knowledge to those willing to listen.
For over four decades, his ghostly presence loomed over Akadence, until 662DH, when the Wererat Investigation Bureau—a band of adventurers—banished his lingering spirit. However, mere years later, the Cult of Tiamat attempted to resurrect Akenth, sacrificing twelve innocent souls in a dark ritual. The ritual was thwarted, but its consequences rippled across time, leading to the creation of Ashtel, a dragonborn ranger, who was cast into the world with no knowledge of his origins for thirty years.

Current Impact & Fear of His Return

Even in death, Akenth’s name is whispered with dread among dragonkind. Other chromatic dragons fear that if he were to return, his unmatched knowledge and tactical brilliance would enable him to seize control, forcing them under his rule and igniting a new Dragon War.
