Weeping Grasper

The Weeping Grasper is a small, land-based flowering plant that is often found in central and South Terr'aina. Despite being closer to a shrub, it greatly resembles vines. Formed of a central stem that often grows in moist, rich soil, the extended stems of a Weeping Grasper can extend for upwards of 50 meters away from the center. They do this by having extremely efficient leaves that grow along the stems of the plant. Small fibers on the plant, much like fine hair, also can filter out latent Mana, making the Weeping Grasper one of few Terr'ainan plants that can be used to restore it. Uniquely, and the source of it's name, the Weeping Grasper's incredible capacity for growth and ability to absorb Mana make it semi-carnivorous - mostly of helpless or dead creatures. It's for this reason, and it's somewhat unsettling appearance, that it's considered an eerie plant at best, and sometimes the subject of rumors or superstitions especially areas high in Spirit activities. The Weeping Grasper is a flowering plant - it's blooms are bell-shaped, often upwards-facing, and are inky purple to pale blue in coloration. When fully formed, extremely long Stamen will fall out of the Weeping Grasper, giving it the former part of its name as they seem to cascade onto the ground. These Stamen are sometimes picked up by pollinators such as bees, but are meant to rub onto small, grounded creatures such as rodents, who might carry the pollen to another Weeping Grasper.
