Shayi
Shayi is the deity of unrelenting, overwhelming power and strength of all kinds. This makes Shayi particularly popular, as all need strength of some kind at times, whether it be physical, mental, or magical. Having come to be associated with the sun due to the parallels in symbolism, in myths and stories Shayi is often characterized as a very energetic and well meaning deity, as well as a bit of a meathead sometimes. Shayi's form is almost never the same twice, and Shayi has no static gender - Strength comes in all forms, after all.
Shayi is many things, but shy is not one of them. If you compiled all myths and stories of the divine, the deity that every single being has interacted with would be Shayi. It's not simply that everyone likes Shayi, though everyone does. It's that Shayi makes an effort to interact with everyone. Any major gathering between deities, Shayi is there, any conflict, Shayi is the mediator. To some, this confuses them. After all, how can a deity of strength be friendly and open to change? Yet strength is not just physical, and not to be confused as stubbornness.
As the Great War raged on, Shayi watched in pain. The deities themselves were against each other, though kept their strength contained. So many people begged for strength, each wanting to use it against the other, Shayi themself almost being pulled in half. Someone, somewhere must need strength, not to harm but to protect. Someone to heal, someone to counteract the pain. Then, a small group of shoals came to light during the war. They did not fight, and did not even ask for strength, finding it within themselves. They healed those that protected them and those that attacked them equally, and had no hatred for their attackers. This was enlightening, in a way even Shayi could not fully describe. A simple deity would watch, a smart deity would help. Shayi, however, joined and learned.
