Men
In Eainor, the common name for humans is "Men" which came from the Haendorian root word "maerod." It is also fairly common for especially Northerners to refer to male Men as "iymen" and female Men as "uomen" (pronounced as yih-men and women). So far I've just been capitalizing Men to show that I'm talking about the race, but I think I might start switching to using iyman for male humans. Does anybody have an opinion?

Civilization and Culture
Culture and Cultural Heritage
The culture of Men is generally divided into two groups -- Northern and Southern -- due to the considerable differences in their ways of life. Northern culture surrounds magic and is mainly matriarchal, but Southern is based around technology and is patriarchal.
In Northern culture, women are revered for their affinity to magic and ability to create and nurture life. Families would not function without mothers' emotional anchors. Yes, men hunt and fight, etc., but they do not have the same ability to grow bountiful harvests that women do.
