The Redeemers

The Redeemers, also known as "The Red Suns" are a powerful religious order, that act under The Church of The One True God. The Redeemers took upon themself the task of cleaning the earth and enforcing the rulings of The Church. The knights and soldiers of the order see themselves as the "Long Hand of God", they execute his will. The Redeemers can be found all across middle Eagsain, mainly in Vownile, Groffission, and Borston, Yet they can be also found in every corner of Eagsain.   The Redeemers have been led by a knight known as "The Emissary" since it was founded in the year 986. Little is known of The Emissary, he rarely speaks to his soldiers, and mainly does his own things in secret. The Emissary is said to be God's soldier, this is the explanation for how he lived so long and how he became so strong, yet the one who doesn't believe in The One True God speculates he remained alive due to something sinister.   The knights of the order are many, and they are stationed all around Eagsain. The knights obey no authority but their own. They are encouraged by some of the kingdoms (Vownile, Groffision and Borston). The knights are not welcomed in many places (Gindland, Isle O' Gold, and various small islands), this does not stop them from attempting to do take them over too. The knights are not Paladins, as it is very easy to become a Redeemer. There are some paladins who swore an oath to cleanse the land from the Unholy, but they are few. The order also doesn't have any clerics, as The Church of The One True God oppose magic-using clerics.   The public opinion about the Redeemers is controversial. While the Redeemers do a lot of good to the world, they also hurt many people. While they might protect a village from a goblin raid, they can also kill the town's Dragonborn baker.

Outposts

The Redeemers don't have many outposts across eagsain, as they mainly travel Eagsain. Yet they have some outposts and bases in Eagsain:
  • The Main Base: The main base is as big as a city, and is the main place for people to become redeemers and train. In this place, most of the tactical decisions are made, and the high-ranked officers live. The base is placed in borston.
  • The Northern Slaves Camp: In the north sit a base of the redeemers, in this base, there are both a mine for the white metal of which the knight armor is made, and a site of an ancient elven relic they try to extract and use. To this base most slaves are sent. The Outpost also serves as a place for training knights, approximately 60 soldiers live there.

The Un-Holy

The Redeemers are very strict when it comes to the Unholy, when they encounter one (on purpose or by accident), they will most likely execute him on the spot (does not apply to pirates, which are being forwarded to one of the kingdoms). If the Redeemers don't execute an Unholy, it is probably because they want them to be a slave.

The Code

while the normal soldiers mostly act out of blind belief, the knights usually have strong ideals and codes. There are four typical knight types:
  • The Cleaner: The knight believes it is his job to clean the earth and make it a better place for everyone. The knight knows the job he is doing is messy and has its own emotional price, yet he does it because it needs to be done. The knight doesn't take his job lightheadedly.
  • The Holy: The knight is very joyful and happy with the job, he benefits a lot (mentally) from helping other people. He entirely believes that the Un-Holy deserve dying, and he doesn't consider them even as alive, therefore he has no problem ending them.
  • The Innocent: He fights in the name of God, and he wants to make the world a better place, because of that all the killing takes a heavy price on him. He spends a lot of time praying, seeking answers from God.
  • The Killer: He likes killing, and he also likes god, and what a better way to put them together than becoming a knight. He is here for his skill of killing, and he is willing to kill anything for god. He is much more loyal to his god than to the church.
