The Highbarrows

South of Brisburg is an area of raised burial mounds ('barrows') where traditional burial practices took place. Where most individuals had their remains cremated or buried in graveyards connected to their respective religions, Brisburg's Highbarrows honored the old practice of embalming members of a house and placing them within carved stone rooms built into small man-made hills.
