Dragons Greed Condition in Eacatis | World Anvil

Dragons Greed

It's mine! All mine!

- Merchant standing on a pile of gold

Causes

Dragons greed usually happened when a creature that felt greed got a hold on a large pile of gold or silver in the form of coins, but the exact reason for why some got it and some didn't were never explained.

Symptoms

The symptoms all aligned with traits that were culturally associated with dragons, hence the name. This included extreme hoarding of coins and other valuables, aggression if someone tried to take even the smallest piece away and moving the hoard to a hard-to-reach location away from civilisation and living there.

Treatment

Treatment involved taking the creature away from all valuables for one month. Needing violence to keep the creature locked up was not uncommon, due to the aggression that the inflicted projected onto the world.

Prognosis

The best indicator of dragons greed was any form of greed for valuables, especially coins. Collectors and hoarders were also more likely to get dragons greed.

Cultural Reception

Many saw dragons greed as a curse made by dragons or afflicting those interacting with dragons. If a creature got dragons greed they were usually thought of as victims of a larger world that should be helped if possible.
