The Chained Citadel

Before the Cataclysm, the Chained Citadel, known then as _____ was a flying castle inhabited by storm and cloud giants. It floated through world and planes while the storm and cloud giants catalogued and collected everything from the places they visited. Many a myth has been created about a flying palace high up in the sky that keeps watch over everything in exsistance. Now, the citadel remains chained to Kalindon, devoid of the giants who once populated it.

History

The ______ has successfully stayed far away from mortal affairs, until it floated over Kalindon for a third time during the Age of Enlightenment. The culprits of the Cataclysm knew what secrets the Chained Citadel may hold, so through the use of powerful enchantments and anti-magic chains, they chained the citadel above Anyara. Through many raids, they found what they were looking for, artifacts capable of channeling immense power, which were eventually the fuel for the Cataclysm. These raids and the sundering left the Chained Citadel in ruins, and its defenses ravaged. Now it is but a husk of what it once was, clinging on to what few, but dangerous, secrets it still possesses.

Defenses

During its days when it floated freely, the Chained Citadel was protected by a host of creatures. In addition to the might of Storm and Cloud Giants, elementals prowled the grounds, and automatons prepared to squash any attack. Now, the elementals that survived the raids are no longer bound to the giants, leaving them hostile to any and all who enter. Some automatons malfunctioned when the citadel was chained, and they have remained dormant ever since. Many have been looted for their mysterious parts, but a few who were deeper in the citadel remain full, and only await a command from the giants to awaken them.
