The Stars of Creation

The Stars of Creation

In the beginning there were the Stars and the Void- ceaseless in their battle for existence vs non-existence. A million worlds were born and simultaneously destroyed, spraying & littering the cosmos with the resulting shrapnel and corpses, most of which were simply reconstituted into the stars. It was a stalemate for an ungodly amount of time until the Stars of Creation, which championed life and order, were able to manifest the first beings strong enough to avoid the destruction of the The Calling Void , nearly on par in power with the creative force of the stars. They could continuously rebuild themselves and each other in defiance. These first primordial Sovereign Divinities had the ability to halt and then contain the heart of the Void, which championed endless chaos and destruction. Once this negative force was suppressed, then proper lasting existence was able to begin in earnest. Though the Stars guided the divinities in the creation and organization of the planes and worlds and all beings therein, other than acting as the source for life, this deity has largely gone dormant. They have left the fate of the cosmos in the hands of their divine stewards or perhaps they have continued to make more worlds and realities elsewhere. Perhaps they are continuously creating new universes while the older ones die out. No one, not even the Sovereigns, could answer that question. Most would contend that the only event that might spark interference by this god would be the escape of the Calling Void from it's containment, an event that would threaten all the Stars have created over millions of years.   Very few mortals have an understanding of what the stars are. Dragons have passed down the oldest myths unto current day dragonkin, but even then very little is known beyond the fact that they created everything. Those that keep the knowledge or myths that are known live in monasteries and call themselves the keepers of The True History of Creation. Though the Elves took also to worshiping the stars from the dragons, the actual power they worship and call the Star-Weaver, Ceralae, is a separate god. The Stars created this god to manage Destiny & Prophecy in their stead- The Sovereign of Destiny (The Weaver).

The Infinite Stars of the Draconic Pantheon

Domains: Life, Twilight, Forge   Portfolio: Creation, Dreams, Stars   Alignment: NG   Alias/s: Song of Creation, The Stars of Creation, The God-Mother   Symbols: A Line of Five Stars   The Infinite Stars are an archaic deity, not often worshiped by the draconic world at large though still held with respect and awe. They are said to have formed all things into existence simply by telling a story with a song and their arrangement back when they were all that existed. Their mortal foe was the Spiraling Dark which sought to umake all they would create. They created the gods and guided the first humanoids in the direction of creation, creativity, and civilization. According to draconic myth, they were the first divine patron of Danha, the first metallic dragon and later deity of cosmic order. Short of this origin story, this deity is not often a subject in many other draconic myths. There are monasteries dedicated to The Infinite Stars- led by historians, plane hoppers, and wielders of starlight. When elves began worship of this being they likened them to a weaver and ascribed many other things, like form, gender, the concept of destiny and the name Ceralae upon them. The dragons consider that version of this power as a ridiculous falsehood as the stars are simply what they are- the stars. They have no purview over the course of history and destiny- that is what they made the gods for. The stars are simply the divine source of all souls in the universe and the entity that keeps the Spiraling Darkness from swallowing the whole of creation.

Temples to The Stars of Creation

  • Iludva Point (Vaythera)
  • Ithriya (Hathas Rhogan)
Worshipers of the Stars themselves are very rare, and almost exclusively dragonkin and almost always as a part of one of the two largest Monasteries to this entity. They are sometimes accompanied by elves or others who have found themselves on their threshold and converted. Many are both monks and also cloistered scholars, historians, sages, and druids. Fellow creators like Bards may also be inspired by the old stories of their provenance. Clerics or paladins of this deity are nigh unheard of but not impossible.    On- Brand Worshipers
