Rolling for Statistics in Dyrn | World Anvil

Rolling for Statistics

Statistics may be determined using either the Standard Array or Point Buy systems, as described in the Player's Handbook, or by rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest die six times, and distributing these six scores between your primary statistics as you choose.   The method of determining statistics must be chosen in advance. Once you have determined how you will calculate statistics, you may request a sheet from the Dungeon Master. All rolls should be made either in one of the Wednesday Warriors Discord Channels, or within Roll20, and should not be made until after you are given the go-ahead by the DM.   In the unlikely event that you cannot create a character where the sum of all stat modifiers is greater than zero, you can disregard your roll and switch to either Point Buy or Standard Array.

Nonviable Rolls

Euphrasia wants to roll for her backup character. She rolls the following array: 16, 12, 8, 8, 7, 5. Her modifiers are +3, +1, -1, -1, -2, and -3. Added up, these modifers are equal to -3. As this is not greater than zero, this roll is nonviable, and Euphrasia may instead choose Point Buy or Standard Array for her statistics.
If you already have a character and you are preparing a backup character, the above process is the same. Once you have rolled for your backup character stats, you will be given a backup sheet in Roll20 and the stats you rolled will be noted on that sheet. You can change your backup character concept at any time, but you must use your rolled stats if you chose to roll.
