The People of Cealla

It is believed that the Huums were the first made by the Old Ones, and that they had intended to let the various people grow and shape themselves to Cealla. Following the Great Dispersal, those who made their homes around Cealla's Nexus' began to change and evolve to the lands around them. Some changed far more drastically, like the Alshari and the Cronf. Others, like the Sjomaur and Fan'daru underwent less physical changes to adapt to their surroundings. Regardless of the changes, large or small, each of these races shares a common ancestry in descending from those original Huums from the Cradle. This shared history bound each race as time and distance separated them, and was used as a reminder to all that they are all equal in the eyes of each other and the Old Ones. This belief, however, has deteriorated since the disappearance of the Old Ones. In the Age of Litri, these bonds have faded even more, and the division between races across Cealla have grown with time and conflicting beliefs.

Huum

Huum are known as the “first Men” and were the first peoples made by Earth and Sky. They were first brought into the world in a place known as the Cradle, which would later become the first circle of Tracht. Huum commonly refers to those people whose appearance matches those original peoples. Huums come in various heights and skin tones, and are the most prevalent race in Cealla. While the numbers aren't exact, it is believed that Huums make up approximately 40-50% of all the races in Cealla

Alshari

The Alshari people trace their lineage and history back to some of the first Skol af Dreka scholars who left the Cradle to explore as asked and to catalogue everything they discovered in the world beyond. Accompanied by a small contingent of drekka scholars, the Alshari people had some of the closest connections to the Skol af Dreka and the Drekkan religion originally. Upon finding the floating mountain nexus that would later become Himinsor, the Proto-Alshari decided to found a new school/society of learning.

Sjomaur

The Sjomaur are the most travelled and second most dispersed race. The Sjomaur believe the Old Gods are wandering beings who’ve travelled throughout the cosmos, seeing and making the places they go better. This idea is at the core of most Sjomaur beliefs, and influences the way they live drastically. The Sjomaur as such flock towards careers that involve travelling and interacting with different peoples. Many become merchants or sailors on the seas. The nexus has changed them in such a way to darken their skin and give them gills on the sides of their necks . Most are built for a life at sea, thus making them great swimmers. With the Nexus at Oarsend also growing more and larger fish, this has proven a valuable change for the Sjomaur people.

Fan'daru

Often seen as the least known and most aggressive of the Ceallan people, this belief is rooted in the cultural differences, past events and deep misunderstandings. The first of present day Sjomaur explorers ran into Fan’daru guardians, and their skirmish left several of the explorers dead. What is not commonly known is that the Fan’daru were one of the first new races to develop their own languages and continue their work in math and science. Since then, the Fan’daru have adopted a religious/Social belief that since the Dispersal, the people of the Old Gods cannot be trusted, and only Fan’daru can. They have bold features and a dark complexion, as well as a second membrane over their eyes to protect them from sand and debris.

Cronf

The Cronf are a stout, hearty people who after the Dispersal made their way to the North and created the city of Sliah, deep inside on of the Shimmering Mountains. The Nexus at the heart of Sliah has transformed those who live within and just outside the mountain, separating the people into 'Inner Core' and 'Outer Core' Cronf. Those who reside within the mountain are broad-shouldered and stout of frame, but are known as the premier bards, entertainers, and orators of Cealla. Those Outer Core Cronf however do not share this stout build, living in the harsh lands at the base of the mountain, these Cronf are often much taller, but share the same broad shoulders and musculature.
