The Way of Embodying

There is little surprise to that many of great Power possess artistic skills. To wield Power properly and grow in its ways, a flexible mind is needed. That oft expresses itself in the desire to create forms of art. To even less surprise, there are those that managed to weaponise their artistic skills. This ability manifests itself in the ability to Embody their connections into a physical shape, which then lets them call upon that connection. These links may allow for communication, or even to tie two worlds together and let one move through the red thread of their own will. More advanced forms exist, but to truly understand those, it is better to figure them out by oneself.
While there are many names to this kind of skill, and even more variants of its expression, the truth is that it is a thing of Power. The Name given to it carries risk, but one should express it in their own way. As such, I call it the Way of Embodying, as that is a decent moniker for how I handle it. But as always, be careful in the naming, for there is no truth in Words.
What, then, is to Embody? It is to put thoughts and understanding into physical shape, take a connection and make it real, then use that reality to change your own. And so one can wax on and on, philosophically to the point of tears of boredom. But in simpler words, it is creating art with Power in such a way that it connects to the subject of the work. A connection that can then be used through Power, in a way one might call telepathy or teleportation. Used as a tool, a way of sentiment, or as a weapon. There are as many uses as there are ways to create them.
An Embodiment can take many shapes. A drawing, a sculpture, a mental twist of swirling liquids in a marble that turn into a portrait, even a poem may be an Embodiment. The creator is an artist and expresses themself through their work. Following in the footsteps of another will only restrict oneself and their creativity, limiting their art and potential. Learn, but find your own way. Only then can your true Power unfold. Art should not be prescribed, it should be felt.
Of course, to properly form a connection, an understanding of the subject is required. To Embody the connection to a world, one must not only have been there, but have properly felt its Power. The better the understanding, the stronger the connection can be made. The same goes for the living, they must be understood. A poor understanding will result in a faltering or failing connection. Do not judge a person by their cover, or you will find that you cannot connect to them at all.
This leads to complications when someone alters and grows, as then the connection will no longer fit the individual. As such, Embodiments of those of Power are to be considered ephemeral. The nature of the subject also impacts how hard it can be to Embody them. Those too rigid are complicated to connect to, as the understanding must be nearing perfection to form the needed link. Meanwhile, when it comes to those that are constantly mentally in motion, the connection may only work when they are in a fitting state of mind. Though the more skilled of them will be able to flow alongside the connection, if they so desire.

Normally, a guide will offer little warning. To warn is to restrict, to limit. We hint, but do not state fully. But when it comes to the Way of Embodying, I must offer three warnings still. And while there is no truth in words, there is truth to the message I mean to instill here.
First, if you try to connect to a world and feel like the difficulty is too great or too little, act with care. It likely means the nature of the world has shifted, which can be due to a number of reason. Outside involvement, or a world too eager to please you, are options to be kept in mind when this happens.
Next. You will have noted I spoke of worlds, and with good cause. Never attempt to Embody a Threshold. Their nature is hard to grasp and requires keeping up your guard. Even a Quarter is not immune to the threat of the encroaching dark. A connection is not only a risk to the user, but may very well provide access to the nothingness. And sure, there are those that have successfully Embodied Thresholds in the past, using them, wielding them. They still failed in the end. One slip, that is all it takes. Do not take that risk.
Lastly, I must note to you that there are those whose Embodiments are so great and massive, that they have become a thing of beauty and demise. Like a living bloodthirsty rose, luring you in to stab you with its thorns, these creations may consume you. So if you come across a thing that connects to you, touches your very being with its beauty, but at the same time feels wrong, sending shivers down your spine, your instincts shouting at you to leave? There is but one thing to do then.
