  • A rakishly handsome male of any race wearing a black robe, polished black boots, and fine jewelry set with dark blue and yellow gems. He carries a small obsidian sickle in his belt.
  • A lich clad in rotting finery wearing a blackened crown and wielding an ebony staff with a blue-black crystal set in the top.
  • A bloated satyr with a goat's skull for a head that smells of decay and sour wine.
  • A cackling, one-eyed, hunchbacked gravedigger in dark clothes carrying a shovel.
During the Age of Dreams, Tamex the Corruptor drew Khemax the Deathless, God of the Dead, to Krynn. In need of a lieutenant to marshall the legions of death, she could think of no finer candidate and the Lord of the Undead gladly accepted her offer. Throughout the millennia, the Lifesbane has worked closely with the Dragon Queen to recruit or raise undead leaders for her armies. It was he who brokered the alliance between Lord Soth and the Dark Lady, and his machinations that gave the Tamex some of her most fearsome battlefield commanders.   As lord of false redemption, Khemax offers eternal life to the desperate and greedy. Little do these unfortunates know that this eternal life is immortality in an undead and eternally corrupted body. He's especially fond of corrupting potential heroes and other do-gooders who might otherwise thwart Tamex the Corruptor's plans for Krynn. Many promising young knights and heroes have fallen prey to the Gravelord's lies and been turned into undead abominations.   Dead and dying creatures fascinate Khemax. The desperate, thrashing movements, the hoary rattle of water in the lungs, and the smell of decay all delight him. Even so, he plans never to experience death himself, growing in power and longevity with each minion he gains. Thankfully for him, his skill at telling convincing lies assures him many more minions.

Duties of the Priesthood

Priests of Khemax the Deathless wear white skull masks and black robes and recruit followers using their god's false promises of immortality. Because Khemax's minions grant his power, priests consider the destruction of the undead strictly taboo and take vengeance on any who do so.
