Gaedra's Citadel

Hidden high in the Sentinel Peaks west of Solace Vale lies the crumbling remains of Gaedra's Citadel. Named for a long-dead black-robed wizard of some renown, the ruins were once a walled keep with a tall tower in the center. Gaedra reportedly died sometime during the middle of the Age of Despair, and her citadel fell into ruin. Mostly forgotten now after nearly two centuries, what's left of the citadel is slowly returning to nature. Most people in Solace Vale are unaware of the citadel's existence, and no one has purposely visited the site in living memory. What, if any, treasures, secrets, or terrors the ruins hold is a mystery.
Pre-Cataclysm records from Thorbardin show that this so-called citadel was built with dwarven assistance—specifically Theiwar labor and Daergar-mined stone. How or why the darkseekers got involved with a black robe wizard is anyone's guess, but it's not particularly surprising all things considered. If you find yourselves in that part of the Sentinel Peaks, a trip to the citadel may be worth your while. —BT
