Wesnya Sanctuary

When Lord Uksem died without an heir, almost 80 years ago, his keep was left abandoned. A magnificent white sandstone fortress that towered over the city... but without a single soul in it. Soon enough, tribes that were passing through started using it as an overnight camp. Then, as it grew popular, the tribes would only send their injured, along with their healers, into the fortress' walls, leaving the rest of the tribe to find respite someplace else. Organically, it grew into something resembling a hospital. A small group of healers now live in the keep which, thanks to volunteer citizens, is still holding. They are possibly the most knowledgeable people in Jadia when it comes to medecine, maybe even in Duvrin as a whole. The keep has become a beacon of hope in the city, and for tribes who seek to save their people from strange illnesses or significant injuries. Within the walls, fighting is prohibited and conflicts, no matter how serious, seem to disperse as soon as one steps inside the sanctuary.

Purpose / Function

A center of healing within the territory of the Tribes of Jadia

Alterations

The dining and ball rooms have become infirmaries. The master bedroom and guest bedrooms have become dormitories for the healers, and smaller rooms (like the office or tearoom) are quarantine zones for the sick. The kitchen has kept its original function, although it has been modified over the years to suit the needs of the sanctuary.

History

It was first built somewhere within the last decade of the Aeon of Heroes, before the Grand Masquerade was uncovered. It belonged to the Mostafa family, of which Uksem was its last heir. Long ago, the Mostafa family was very influential within the area but, as the feudal system within the region were abolished, the family slowly lost its influence... but not its wealth.
