Storm Heralds

There are those who, careless and craving adrenaline, would put their lives in great danger for a glimpse of power. Such is the nature of the Storm Heralds. This menestian cult chases after thunder and lightning, believing that being hit by a bolt of lightning, and surviving the experience, will grant them power and strength. Tapping into traditional menestian pride and desire to prove oneself, the Heralds have convinced more than a few to join them in their chase for power.
If, in the middle of a storm, you hear the raucous laughter of a group of fools, chasing after the sound of thunder, know that Mx. Aegir has, just like the lightning they revere, struck again.
- Virya Nowak, Sage of Protection

Most of the group's members are soldiers or guards trying desperately to stand out from their colleagues and gain the upper hand or, at the very least, renown within military circles. Others may have different motivations or even none at all since Riacan Aegir, the "group"'s charismatic leader tends to charm people into joining their guild, sometimes even going as far as using the trial of lightning as a way to challenge one's loyalty.   Due to traditional menestian dress ensuring the visibility of one's marks and tattoos, committed Heralds can be noticed by the Lichtenberg scars (lightning scars) they bear. They will even usually go out of their way to make them visible and noticeable upon first glance.
Generally, Menestians pay little attention to the group, though they have managed to garner respect in some rougher circles, mostly for their shameless daring attitude.

Structure

The group, who swears they are not a cult, is headed by Riacan Aegir, a charismatic half-elven individual. They take most of the decisions concerning the Heralds. Those decisions are then relaid to their two exarchs. Other members might have a different social status based on their age or commitment, but they all have the same title, or lack thereof.

Culture

Tapping into the traditional menestian attitude of pride and proving oneself, the group is deeply meritocratic, constantly judging each other on the basis of their courage and willingness to put themselves in danger to accomplish their goal.

Public Agenda

Mainly to gain power through the trial that is being hit by lightning. They rarely openly engage in conflict unless provoked.
