Nachaek

Situated a few miles west of the Coral Bay, Nachaek is, in reality, more of a campus than a city. Bustling with young student and curious researchers, Nachaek's existence revolves around student life and intellectual tourism, which has made it somewhat hostile to those who would simply wish to live in peace in an urban center.

However, this congregation of scholars makes for an interesting phenomena; the people of Nachaek are among the most educated in all of Tamynia. Furthermore, their proximity to such a beacon of arcane power has made them experts in extraplanar lore and travel. It is somewhat of a local fascination, as the locals know that if, or rather when, planar travel will become accessible to commoners, it will be in their city first. In fact, many houses in the city have their own teleportation circles/artifacts, as the proximity to the mages that study this domain makes those resources rather cheap, and every child knows planar cosmology, sometimes better than the very geography of their world.

History

A century ago, what was then a small town discovered something that would change its history; a naturally-occurring portal hub. Fascinated by this one-of-a-kind discovery, scholars and researchers flocked to the small town and the Willow Sanctum, which was then slowly emerging, soon opened a faculty, the Faculty of Reconnaissance, in Nachaek.

Points of interest

Nachaek's most interesting feature is of course its Gate, situated within a chamber of the Faculty of Reconnaissance. The public can observe the portal from a different room, but contact of close-quarter visits are reserved for approved researchers, mostly from the Sanctum itself.
