The People

The People was an international organization created for the purpose of organizing affairs between member nations, in order to guarantee peace and increase prosperity. It maintained several branches with various directives, including on-call military forces, mostly pulled from member-states, which were used to intervene in conflicts to protect civilian centers and maintain order, upon a general vote by the general assembly.

Structure

The People's main structure was in its general assembly, to which each member nation appointed a representative, who voted on behalf of their state, for each resolution. Underneath the general assembly were committees, each focused on a specific issue, which representatives could be assigned to. These committees acted with some degree of freedom on their specific task, but for most significant decisions, they had to go through the process of putting a resolution forward to the general assembly.
Alongside these structures, The People had various offices, staffed with permanent employees, each commandign resources designated for specific parts of The People's overall purpose, such as the Office for Investigation and Analysis, the Office for Peacekeeping and Intervention, and the Office for Economic Development.

History

The People was founded shortly after the conclusion of the Three Generations War, as the dust settled and the continent of Jideran looked in horror at the costs of the conflict. By the end of the century, every nation in Jideran and most across the world had become a member.
While The People could not prevent all regional conflicts or small conflicts, they managed to prevent these wars from bubbling over into larger affairs. On top, they facilitated trade agreements and diplomatic outreach, as well as greater international communication and cooperation, even before quick long-distance communication became available to the general public.
