Dustrider Vehicles
Dustrider vehicles can take on many different forms, shapes, sizes, overall mass, and mode of propulsion. Some are wheeled or use treads, propelled by the fire of refined crude. Some operate like sleds gliding over the sand using sails or massive fan engines operated by combustion engines, some use complex arrangements of joints to stride over the ground with the wind like a clockwork beast, and others, with the aid of specialized magical equipment, simply hover over the sand like a mirage.
Different races in the Dustriders setting use different methods of propulsion due to cultural and technological differences. Each one has its own cultural identity stemming from the tribe that built it. The Dustrider is the premier mode of transportation over the wastes.
In optimal conditions, most land-based diesel vehicles can travel up to 60 mph, travelling as far as 500 miles in a single day, but frequently this will not be the case. Some specialized vehicles can go up to 150 mph, but only if conditions permit such speeds like high winds or lightning storms.
