Ground Drones
Ground Drones are semi-autonomous robotic companions that move around on the ground. They are more durable than their aerial counterparts and make less noise, however they don't have nearly the same level of mobility that is afforded by the Aerial Drones. They offer most of the same utility, but also can carry additional weight, acting as a pack mule of sorts when travelling on foot for limited durations. Because they don't need to stay airborne, they also don't need to recharge as frequently.
Deploying a drone takes an Action. A drone, with a stock Radio Control System can be up to 300 feet away with line of sight, and half as much without line of sight. Retrieving a drone is only a free object interaction.
Like their aerial counterparts, they can be equipped with grasping claws to carry small items, have hardpoints for mounting firearms, and are capable of being controlled with a Bonus Action. They also relay information to a viewing screen.
Roboticist Engineers can send commands to run specific programs and subroutines so the Roboticist can control multiple drones or other robotics at once at the cost of either an Action or a Bonus action.
Once disabled and at 0 HP, a drone can be repaired with the Repair Action and tinkers' tools. The repair action restores 2d6 HP to the drone. Additional materials used in the Repair Action restore an additional 1d6 for each material used, and an additional 2d6 for each component used. The materials or components used in the repair must be the same that were used to craft the drone.
Drone attack rolls are = 1d20 + Proficiency Bonus (if Proficient in Robotics) + Intelligence Modifier.
The commands are as followsAttack: The robotic companion attacks the chosen target, if it can attack
Move: The robotic companion moves to a designated location
Protect: The robotic companion takes an opportunity attack against an opponent if the specified target being defended receives an attack or it blocks an enemy attack if it is a mobile cover drone
Scan: If equipped with scanning sensors, the robotic companion will give allies advantage to attack on a specified target until the start of your next turn
Lycaon UWD v1
This wheeled drone can be cobbled together using existing parts and is among the most common remote-controlled drones. This is typically the entry point which most Roboticists choose as their first companion drone.
