The Monastery of the Black Templar

The monastery of the Black Templar were an order devoted to religious study and the grooming of young monks and acolytes into worthy candidates for joining major military sects of religious order such as the White Orchid Order. Technically an off-shoot of the larger Obsidian Templar sect within Central they relocated farther away carrying a host of forbidden texts from varying parts of Central and later the Northlands in order to relieve temptation but preserve history of battles long fought and foes long vanquished. The hope was that this forbidden knowledge would provide aid should evil rear it's ugly head again and that there would be chapters of knowledge and education to fight the reemerging foes...it was however this very containment of forbidden knowledge that would be their greatest undoing as one of their in training paladins with the outside aid of an incredibly smug necromancer would see the destruction of the temple burning it to the ground while those inside slept and then reanimating a select few of the corpses for their own nefarious purposes. Evil had come and as it turns out, could not be contained so easily.

Structure

The organizations structure was composed of a bunch of acolytes who would receive counsel from a circle of elders who would dictate orders, training, and raise young perspectives to be gifted to other larger sects in exchange for favor and resources.

Culture

As was similar to their founder the Obsidian Templars they believed that evil must be hunted and destroyed but more importantly that it must be understood so that it could be better fought in the future

Disbandment

The organization wasn't disbanded so much as destroyed by the hands of one it's own acolytes.
