Freshwater Triton
As opposed to the Tritons of the sea, who live underground or in deep saltwater environments, the freshwater Triton has adapted to living inland. Retaining their humanoid structure, the species has noted structural differences from saltwater Tritons - namely resembling freshwater fish, such as catfish.

Anatomy
As far as has been observed, the species naturally produces a form of protective slime when not submerged in water, which can be accelerated when the individual is nervous, similar to the process of sweating in mammals.
