Miyu Kabuki (a.k.a. Calli, Calligraphy)

Calligraphy is a distinct looking tiefling from the Eastlands, apparently a Blood Sister. Collateral damage from the last civil war, she comes off as very reserved and cynical. There's also something weird going on with her hair....did the black spots just move?

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

About average human height, if not on the shorter side if you don't include her horns. She has a slender build with lean muscles as you'd expect from an archer. It's clear she could stand to eat more than just goodberries.

Body Features

There are many red markings about her body that appear to be as natural as freckles on a human. Her horns are fairly long, stretching up and arching just slightly back. You would describe them as black, but reflect a reddish hue in the light.

Facial Features

Calli has a diamond shaped facial structure with rounded almond shape eyes and an average straight nose. Her eyes have fully colored sclera of a dark orange and you can see a swirl of red where an iris would be, somewhat indicating where she is looking. Her ears are long and pointed upward, similar to an elf, and tipped in red. There are also red marks above each eyebrow, surrounding the outer edges of her eyes, and sharp stripes on her upper cheekbones.

Identifying Characteristics

She has unnaturally pale skin with the palest of grey-pink tinge at joints and other fleshy blush type areas. Her hair is long and white, tipped in red. It waves and resembles a cloud at a glance. Normally, there are several inky black streaks and tips to her hair that people take as her actual hair color but she does not have black hair.

Physical quirks

She does emanate a light sulphuric odor thanks to her heritage, as well as a warmth that gets stronger when she is angry.

Apparel & Accessories

Calli favors simple clothing that is easy to move in, usually sandals which make it easier to trek in sand without sinking in, and a cloak with a gaiter. She always has her longbow, bone flute, and art supplies. Her aim is to travel light as a result of not having a home to go back to.

Personal history

She is clearly reluctant to speak too much about her personal history. After sharing with Gaius that her mother rejected her at birth, it's easy to see why. She believes that her existence brings shame to her family and therefore avoids sharing her birth name, though from time to time to her chagrin she is openly identified.

Failures & Embarrassments

Being discovered on a stealth mission in Moralthi and becoming a wanted criminal in the jurisdiction. Failed to stop Shush from taking evil deals and acting upon them.

Mental Trauma

She has admitted to being rejected by her mother, and in general by society in the Eastlands. Lucid nightmares of a certain demon torment her, but she puts on a brave face and dares not share this with others.

Intellectual Characteristics

While she isn't a scholar by any means, she does have a fair understanding of many things. She isn't afraid to play down her intelligence to take advantage of those who think little of her.

Morality & Philosophy

She has very strong feelings against those who form ties to demons and devils, or otherwise cult-related and evil activities. Calli does not regret ending lives of cultist or those who aim to kill her/her allies, however she is starting to become aware of the grey areas in her previously black-and-white "all cultists are bad" ideology. She tries to recognize her limitations and would rather run when needed because it is more important to live and fight another day. She struggles, however, to leave behind allies and has stayed in harrowing situations to support them.

She says it is to "prevent more people like her", but she struggles to put her motivation into words. There are perhaps ties to her personal history that she keeps to herself.

Despite her normally bitter demeanor, when people have merited respect she tries to be friendly and respectful- however awkward it may turn out. She shows curiosity and care, even humor to those who've earned it. She also seems keen on returning favors.

She struggles with being sarcastic sometimes, perhaps a defensive impulse. It's like a habit has been formed to show disrespect where she can to those she does not like or who have treated her as lesser. She can be very black and white in regards to judging an individual as evil.

When she is angry, her feral traits flare- showing a sharp toothed underbite (think: oni). These traits often carry to Tama. Especially when she has used hellish rebuke. She can have a quick temper at times.

Clearly accustomed to living without a certain degree of grooming, but does seem to prefer being clean when there's an opportunity. Especially when wandering amongst people.

Does not seem to be fond of religion, but does have some sort of spiritual tie to her swarm of inklings. Doesn't discuss it but is developing a "religious" sort of respect for ancestry.

Has shown some limited degree of business sense, but struggles to connect on a personal level with most people. Often a hand must be reached out to her first.

Hobbies & Pets

Tama isn't exactly a pet, but he is a companion to Calli. Unlike most of the inklings in her swarm, there's a special personality to this individual spirit that's very prominent. As far as hobbies go, she often draws and paints in her sketchbook to document things she sees.
