The Forgotten
The Forgotten, those lamentable shades bereft of divine claim, find themselves confined to the shadowy realms of Umbrathir, a dire fate unfolding upon their entry. Subjected to the inexorable decay of the mind, their existence clings tenuously to the memories cherished by the living. Yet, once the living souls who hold their recollections pass into the annals of time, these neglected specters transform into feral entities consumed by a singular desire: the relentless expansion of their wretched numbers.
When unleashed upon the realm of the living, The Forgotten wield the dreadful power to extract the life essence from their hapless victims. In a clandestine conflict that would consume the once-mighty Thanoran Theocracy, a misguided scientist within the advanced nation of goliaths summoned The Forgotten, inadvertently sowing the seeds of devastation. Subsequently, in the annals of history, the cataclysmic event that befell the Thanorans was mistakenly attributed to the malevolent machinations of the blood mage Salray. Little did the Aurelians know that The Forgotten, having already wrought havoc upon the doomed nation, lingered within its remnants.
In a desperate gambit to vanquish these undead legions, the researcher Grace initiated a magical detonation, intending to confine The Forgotten back to Umbrathir. The aftermath of this enigmatic event, overlooked by the Aurelians who presumed the remains to be ordinary corpses, would, in due course, lead to the darkest chapter in their history. The imprisoned specters of The Forgotten, harboring a fervent desire for escape, would weave a malevolent tapestry within Umbrathir, preparing for an ominous resurgence from the very confines designed to bind them.
