Aeretiu ((Air-uh-tee-oo))
Aeretiu is a realm of perpetual daylight, where the God of the Forge, Aergetlam, and the Goddess of Light, Eriu, radiate their brilliance upon a realm that shimmers with precious metals and gemstones. Here, the art of craftsmanship reaches sublime heights, with awe-inspiring cities adorned with incredible feats of smithing and architecture. Populated predominantly by elves, Aeretiu is a realm where the radiance of Aergetlam and Eriu bathes everything in their divine light.
Gods of Aeretiu:
Aergetlam, the God of the Forge, is the master craftsman and artisan, while Eriu, the Goddess of Light, is the eternal source of illumination and inspiration. Together, they illuminate the realm of Aeretiu and inspire its inhabitants to create masterpieces of beauty and utility.
Eternal Day:
In Aeretiu, there is no night, only unending daylight. The realm is bathed in the radiant glow of Aergetlam and Eriu, creating a perpetual golden hour. Stars twinkle in the sky even during the day, a testament to the realm's divine illumination.
Cityscapes of Wonder:
The interconnected city and subcities in Aeretiu are architectural marvels, growing and forming from the embers of the Great Forge. Like the age rings of a mighty oak tree, the age of the city emanates radially from the central forge. The era and architectural style of the city changes with distance, believed to be the result of the slow transformation of Argetlam and his tastes over the millenia. Buildings in close proximity of the Great Forge are crafted from shimmering gold and silver and seem to reach for the heavens, their spires adorned with intricate filigree and radiant gemstones. The streets are paved with precious gems, creating a kaleidoscope of color beneath the feet of the inhabitants. Elaborate sculptures and exquisite mosaics adorn every corner, telling stories of craftsmanship and creation. In contrast, the structures farthest from the epicenter remain as degrading stone ruins, encroaching upon the edge of Aeretiu. These empty remnants of bygone eras now crumble and threaten to unmoor from the edges of the Aeretian branch.
The Great Forge:
At the absolute center of Aeretiu lies the Great Forge, a sprawling expanse of roaring flames and flowing molten metal that resembles rivers of liquid gold and silver. It is here that Argetlam perfects his craft, continuously and eternally forming his domain and its cityscapes. The forge's fires never wane, and the rhythmic pounding of hammer against anvil is a symphony that resonates throughout the land. It is from the Great Forge and the hand of the master forge smith that the surrounding city grows, forever expanding from its epicenter. Were his hammer ever to cease, so too would the expansion of the megalopolis itself.
Skilled Artisans:
The people of Aeretiu are known for their exceptional craftsmanship. Elves, the predominant inhabitants, have honed their skills to perfection under the guidance of Aergetlam and Eriu. They forge weapons, armor, and tools of unparalleled beauty and power. Each piece created in Aeretiu is a work of art, a fusion of practicality and aesthetic perfection.
Divine Presence:
The presence of Aergetlam and Eriu is felt in every aspect of Aeretiu. Their warmth radiates through the realm, nurturing both the land and its inhabitants. The glow of the stars is a manifestation of their divine light, and even the flickering flames of every fire are seen as a reflection of their creative spirit.
Scent of Creation:
In Aeretiu, the air is thick with the heady scents of burning wood, coal, and smelted metal. The fragrant aroma of the forge is a constant reminder of the realm's dedication to craftsmanship and creation.
