Anjali Evos

Background

Anjali Evos was the Headmistress of the Silverpeak Institute during Season 1 of the campaign.
Like all heads of the instutite, Anjali was a Lich, bound to the school by means of a large crystaline Phylactery. The process provided the recipient with tremendous magical ability, at the expense of personal freedom and a 10-year lifespan.

In-Game Events

For most of the Season 1, Anjali rarely associated with the players directly, instead preferring to stay isolated in her workspace. It was not until Andros was introduced that she became more intwined in the party's fate.

Blightspawn Arc
During the initial welcome of the 1st Year students, Anjali outlined the need to remain politically neutral. This included abiding by the magical accords of the Essysian Mages' Council. When Marta Astoria became infested by a Blightspawn , she breached the magical policies of the institute. The party were ordered to "deal with it", or Anjali would destroy the blightspawn by any means necessary, including the death of Marta who was still psychically linked to the creature.
Lich Arc Knowing that her time was limited, Anjali approached Andros as a potential successor. Andros avoided giving a direct answer, but was persued in secret by Anjali as he and Marta uncovered the truth of the phylactery. Marta's breach of the seals allowed Siobhan to locate and interact directly with the phylactery. Siobhan attempted to claim the phylactery's energy for her Master, but was temporarily defeated by Andros casting Banishment.
Anjali remained with the phylactery during the Battle of Silverpeak.
Final Death With few options left, Anjali was eventually persuaded by the party to relinquish her control of the school. She surrendered herself to the phylactery and harmlessly detonated it. The magical defenses and capabilities of the school have since significantly decreased, but a substitute Core was implanted to maintain the foundations of the buildings.
Though technically the last of her line, Anjali's role as Headmistress has been replaced by Tamara, pending reconstruction and re-staffing of the institute. Meadow
