Silverpeak Institute
One of the leading educational facilities for martial and mystic arts. Silverpeak is home to some 700 students and 30 staff.
Purpose / Function
Silverpeak prepares students for interaction with the supernatural world. While a rare sight for common folk, monsters and magic are still a serious enough threat to warrant a need for adventurers.
Between the high mortality rate of students, and the demanding entrance exams, applications to Silverpeak are significantly rarer than non-combative universities. However, it does offer certain unique perks, such as the free tuition, lodging, and the elimination of any pre-existing debts.
An institute with a steady output of highly-trained combat specialists is certain to cause some anxiety amongst feuding kingdoms. To ensure the unthreatened continuation of Silverpeak, there is a zero-tolerance policy on any students engaging in acts of war, espionage, or political conflict.
Architecture
Imposing and austere, Silverpeak is composed of gothic sandstone walls and mahogany doors covered in wrought iron. Entrants at the foyer are greeted (often literally) by a possessed marble statue known as The Steward
History
Among adventure academies, Silverpeak is distinctive for its stance on nonhuman entrants. The campus boasts a very cosmopolitan population compared to its peers. This is due in part to a uniform grading system, with no weighting accounted to a person's lineage.
