Marina Zaharak
The docks are busy, with airships and sea-going boats coming and going, sails rippling in the wind. One airship catches your eye as it slides off into the pink dusky sky, though less because the ship itself is notable and more because there is a woman standing at the edge of the sky pier, flinging rocks and hurling invectives after it. The last thing you hear before she gives up and tries to catch her breath is "And I hope the chocobo gives you twice as much hell as I will!"
Marina Zaharak, human woman, is serving as Helmsfolk for the Starfall. The party met Marina throwing rocks and curses after the Scintilla, her previous airship, and hired her for a bargained-down 1200 gil to work on the Starfall. Marina has taken to the ship like a fish to water, pushing the Starfall to previously unseen heights and speeds, as well as offering advice on how to run a ship and a crew despite no one asking her for this.
She has unruly black curls reigned in under a purple bandana, dark brown eyes and light brown skin, wearing four necklaces, three earrings in her left ear and two in her right, and a very surly expression. She speaks quickly, rushing the words out of her mouth, as if she's in a hurry to get back to her scowl. Her posture is guarded, but her face easily betrays her thoughts and emotions.
TRIVIA
- Not only unbothered by illegal activity, she seeks it out. Her initial asking price to serve as Helm was 1500 gil, though illegal activity would change her price to 1000 gil and 10% of the profits.
- Knocked Orrey's sketchbook out of his hand when he attempted to sketch her, and has done her best to avoid it ever since.
- Has recently stopped smoking, and is using cinnamon sticks as a frustrating replacement.
INTEL
- First (Linnet, 0): Marina did cut her teeth flying airships out of the Triad. She flew eight different airships during her time there, but only two ships had her listed as crew for more than two flights: the Scintilla, and the Seventh Dawn.
- Second (Bast, 26): Marina has a fondness for chocobos, and spent a lot of time between flights at the Triad at the chocobo races. She used to have a white chocobo feather on her jacket, but after leaving the Seventh Dawn's employ, it has not been seen.
- Third (Bast, 27): Has been playing songs the crew sing on her harmonica when she thinks no one is around to listen. Is rather good at it.
- Fourth (????, 0): Four years ago, a bounty for a woman named Lyric Narujj was closed in the Triad after her ship, the Guilty Pleasure, was found seventy leagues southwest from the Three Sisters, along with wreckage from three other unnamed ships. No one claimed the 850,000 gil bounty after eighteen months, and it was closed. The old posters have since been lost, but the bounty referred to a woman with a white chocobo and a mountain of curls.
