Scrooge McDuck

Scrooge McDuck

Tougher than the toughies, smarter than the smarties, and sharper than the sharpies, Scrooge made his money fair and square. Part mysterious multi trillionaire, part adventurer, his wealth combined with his overwhelming confidence has bred an unpredictable nature and a belief that anything can happen and everything is possible if you're willing to work for it. His love of money isn't because he's greedy, it's because he knows how he earned each dollar; each coin is a memento of a past adventure.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Scrooge is a white anthropomorphic duck with a yellow bill, legs & feet. He traditionally wears a red coat with a black top hat with a grey band round it & spats. He also wears a small pair of glasses & carries a cane with him most of the time.

Special abilities

  • Immortality: Scrooge is known for his long lifespan. By his own account, he was alive during the Gold Rush of the 1800's. His long lifespan is the result of encounters with life extending Supernatural forces, like spending time in timeless demon dimensions or being cryogenically frozen while spelunking for treasure. Twice in a row. Druid stones from Castle McDuck granted Scrooge immortality since his sister Matilda is still immortal even when she leaves the castle. Webby confirmed Scrooge's immortality in How Santa Stole Christmas!.
  • Skilled hand-to-hand combatant: Scrooge is a very strong duck physically, and is a master combatant. With his raw strength, he was able to defeat a Rock Giant. His strength and endurance makes him the only person able to dive and swim in gold coins (a skill later learned by his grand-nephew, Louie Duck). He also can weight-lift money bags.
  • Swordsmanship: On several occasions, Scrooge also has shown to be handy with his cane as a sword.
  • Genius-level intellect: Self-described as being "smarter than the smarties", Scrooge has proven himself to be extremely intelligent on numerous occasions, from his business sense to his knowledge over ancient history.
  • Multilingualism: Scrooge has proven himself to be an adequate translator, able to read ancient languages such as Atlantean and the unknown language of Montemplumage's City.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Scrooge McDuck is a Scottish duck who immigrated to America at a young age and is the richest businessman in the world with his net worth being at 5.4-12.8 trillion dollars. He goes to extreme lengths if it is ethical to save even small amounts of money, especially his most prized possession, his Number One Dime, which his father gave to him.

Early Life

Number One Dime
In 1877, Scrooge was a ten-year-old boy, working as a shoe shiner in the city of Glasgow. One day while working, Burt the Ditchdigger came with boots cemented in mud and hired Scrooge to shine his shoes. Scrooge worked and worked, shining his shoes until they sparkled. In return, the man paid Scrooge with a single American dime. He was reading about Isabella Finch, and her adventures, all his childhood.   Proud of his hard work, the American dime inspired Scrooge to move to the United States of America, where he would eventually find his fortune. What Scrooge did not find out until over a hundred years later was that the dime had been given to Burt by his father Fergus McDuck, who also muddied Burt's boots and sent him to Scrooge. Fergus, being poor, hoped to teach Scrooge the value of self-reliance so he could make his own way in the world.
Goldie
In America, Scrooge met a woman named Goldie O'Gilt. The two of them went on a number of adventures together, including a visit to the Gobi Desert, an encounter with Portuguese pirates, and a flight over the Himalayas. During the Klondike Gold Rush, Scrooge and Goldie searched together for the Golden Lagoon of White Agony Plains.   Goldie attempted to steal the map from Scrooge, but they were attacked by a woolly mammoth, and half of the map got stuck between the mammoth's teeth.   As trying to escape from the beast, the two of them froze into a glacier and spent five years there. Goldie melted out of the glacier first and left Scrooge heartbroken. The two would meet again on several occasions over the ensuing decades, developing a rivalry that shifted from heated antagonism to playful banter.   One such occasion saw them face off with rival fortune hunter John D. Rockerduck in town of Gumption for the giant golden nugget.
Christmas
At some point in his frontiersman days, Scrooge evidently took up coal mining with some success, but due to his brusque manner was rather less successful in persuading potential customers to buy it. He eventually encountered Santa Claus, whom he helped pull his sleigh through a snowstorm, and the two struck up a friendship. After seeing how Santa was able to persuade Elves to let them in and even pay for his coal with his genial manner, Scrooge proposed a business partnership between the two. An exuberant Santa, however, made the rather outrageous promise that the two would deliver all the promised coal by Christmas Day, which was only days away from their first meeting.   As fortune had it, Scrooge had recently acquired a map that led to the Feliz Navidiamond, a magical artifact with the ability to slow down time. Following its directions, the pair encountered Los Renos Voladores, and were initially attacked by them before Santa once again worked his charming nature to win them over. Entering the cave where the diamond lay, the two were then attacked by the Guardian of the Feliz Navidiamond, a massive and monstrous snowman. Unable to best the beast even with Santa's aid, Scrooge rushed back outside and recruited the reindeer. The unlikely team were then able to secure the diamond, and made their way back to the Elves' inn.   Eager to start on their new business venture, Scrooge was at first puzzled, then appalled, when Santa suggest that they give away the coal for free on Christmas Eve rather than asking for payment. Scrooge, ever the pragmatist, thought the idea as ludicrous as giving away toys as Santa had been doing before they met. When he said as much, Santa replied that perhaps he would give away toys instead of coal. Scrooge tried to convince him to return to their original plan, not wanting to lose his new friend, but was ultimately unable to sway Santa from his determined mission to give without thought of reward. The two then parted ways, and Santa began the tradition of delivering gifts on Christmas Eve.   The rift in their relationship intensified over the ensuing decades, with Scrooge eventually making a point of setting traps in his home in order to catch a trespassing Santa. Scrooge would also express open disdain of Christmas as a whole and of Santa in particular, venting his fury to any who would listen.   In truth, Scrooge had nothing against the holiday, particularly after he befriended the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. The three had been tasked with haunting another person named Scrooge, but after getting to know McDuck made a point of visiting him every year.
Neverest Ninny
Seventy-five years prior to meeting his great-nephews, Scrooge made his first million dollars and wanted to mark the occasion by doing something nobody has ever done before; climbing to the top of Mount Neverrest. He hired a renowned mountaineer, George Mallardy, to lead his expedition up the mountain. But due to Scrooge's inexperience and over-packaged on emergency supplies, Mallardy mocked him mercilessly. When Scrooge and Mallardy were tied together on a rope and dangling from a cliff, Mallardy insisted that Scrooge would lighten his load, but Scrooge refused, not wanting to lose the supplies or his money belt. Frustrated, Mallardy cut Scrooge's loose and he fell off Mount Neverrest so Mallardy could continue himself. A myth of this incident spread around, but it stated that instead of Mallardy trying to kill Scrooge, he tried to save him. Scrooge was branded "The Neverrest Ninny"
Outsmarting the Beagles
At some point of time, the city of Duckburg was taking over by the swindleric Beagle family and was ruled by Pappy Beagle with his daughter. During this time the city was visited by Scrooge, who have already become rich. Upon arrival, Scrooge recalled once this city belonged to the Ducks and offered to sell it back. In response, Pappy Beagle offered to play arm wrestling on the condition that the winner will receive both the town and the money.   During the game Scrooge realized that Pappy Beagle is cheating - his arm was attached to the mechanism that was operated by one of the Beagle Boys hiding in the box-table for the game. But Scrooge managed to expose the crook - he dropped a couple of coins in the box and then Beagle Boy tries to get them he accidentally fell out of the box. Other Beagle Boys were shocked by such meanness on the part of their father. After that, Scrooge was technically the winner and got the deed to Duckburg for free. Pappy Beagle's daughter was furious with her father because he was caught and decided to manage the family herself in order to return the deed to Duckburg for them. Later she became known as Ma Beagle, the notorious crime lady of Duckburg and one of Scrooge's greatest villain.
The Good Life
Scrooge was a very adventurous, outgoing and brave man, even in his older years. Some of his exploits include defeating a Rock Giant and carving a statue out of its leg and solving the mystery of the Chupacabra and swimming in a pile of gold. He spent an undetermined amount of time in the timeless demon dimension of Demogorgana. In 1956, he captured a unicorn that he locked in his Other Bin. In 1960 during his stay in Mozambeak he sold Mr. Zee a carpet of Haveyouseenium. That deal made him the richest duck in the world, but also earned him the wrath of Bombie, whom he eventually trapped on Falcon Island.   Around the same time Scrooge encounters in the South Africa young boy named Duke Baloney working as a shoe shiner like Scrooge in his childhood. While cleaning Scrooge's shoes Duke expressed his desire to become the richest duck in the world. However, he already displayed a penchant for overly complicated schemes, as well as a willingness to suffer injury for the sake of his goals. Seeking to share his own experience with young Duke, Scrooge attempts to pay him with a dime, but Duke feels he has been cheated. Unbeknownst to Scrooge, Duke steals his money clip, and sets out to take revenge by creating the persona of Flintheart Glomgold and outdoing Scrooge at everything. This is how another Scrooge's greatest adversary was created.   In the 1960s, he worked on the mission with the spy agency S.H.U.S.H., where he met Agent 22 Bentina Beakley, who would become one of his most trusted friends. During that mission he encounters F.O.W.L. for the first time in the face of Black Heron.   In 1977, he found a mysterious Dreamcatcher.   In 1987 Scrooge competed with Glomgold in the extraction of legendary Jewel of the Shark God. During this Glomgold showed himself in bad light and stuck in the Shark Cave while Scrooge not only get the Jewel but alse rescued famous journalist Webra Walters, from which his fame as adventurer capitalist has truely began.
Embracing Family
Scrooge eventually decided to retire from adventuring in order to focus on running his company, McDuck Enterprises. However, these plans were disrupted one day when his sister Hortense McDuck dropped off her kids-his niece and nephew Della and Donald Duck-at Scrooge's Money Bin. She also left a note asking Scrooge to look after them, as their father Quackmore Duck had suffered an accident involving a firecracker. None too pleased at being forced to babysit, Scrooge soon found himself contending with another problem, as Beakley contacted him with news that F.O.W.L. was after the Papyrus of Binding. Reluctantly Scrooge set out to locate the artifact, even more reluctantly bringing along his young relatives.   Scrooge chartered a plane to the island where the papyrus was thought to be located, only for the pilots to turn out to be Bradford Buzzard and Black Heron.   The two villains ditched the plane, but Della-already brimming with dreams of being a pilot-was able to safely land the aircraft. The three made their way through the island's hazards, and in spite of himself Scrooge began to bond with Donald and Della, regaling them with the story of his defeat of El Capitán.   They then arrived at their destination: the wrecked ship of Captain Yellow Beak, stranded atop a mountain peak. Making their way aboard using Scrooge's high-tech cane, they found the skeletal remains of Yellow Beak, driven to despair and madness after making ill-considered use of the Papyrus' power. Heron and Bradford then arrived, seeking to claim the Papyrus for themselves, and conflict broke out between the rival teams. When Heron attempted to use the Papyrus to dispose of Scrooge's "sidekicks", the Papyrus' magic refused to act, and Scrooge realized that it was because Donald and Della were not his sidekicks, but family. Thwarted, Heron instead used the Papyrus to animate Yellow Beak's skeleton, whom Scrooge engaged in battle while Donald and Della occupied Heron.   Overcoming the malicious magical minion, Scrooge confronted Bradford, vowing that he would hunt him and his associates down with all his energy. Unfortunately, Bradford used the Papyrus to transport himself away, simultaneously erasing Scrooge and the kids' memories of his presence. Heron soon had Donald and Della at her mercy despite their spunkiness, and demanded that Scrooge surrender the Papyrus. However, Scrooge acted to insure that she would not possess it, instructing the Papyrus to appear only when his rightful heir came to claim it. As it flew away in obedience to his instruction, Heron attempted to snatch it but failed, seemingly falling to her death in the process. Having renewed his taste for adventure, and moreover gained a taste for adventure alongside Donald and Della, Scrooge became determined to continue.   As such, he sought out a CEO to take care of business affairs at McDuck Enterprises, and unwittingly selected his greatest foe, Bradford Buzzard.
The Golden Chicken
On an adventure in a jungle, Scrooge McDuck, accompanied by his niece and nephew, Della Duck and Donald Duck respectively. The trio eventually came across an ancient city and temple, ruled by the mighty Monteplumage. Scrooge and Della make haste while they enter the temple, while Donald lags behind the group, making pessimistic quips along the way.   While walking down a hallway, Scrooge came across a bird-like artifact in a cage. Della examines the artifact while Scrooge recognizes the bird as the greatest treasure Montemplumage ever owned, the Golden Chicken. Much to the confusion of the group, the chicken came to life and begins to attack the group. Scrooge deduces that the chicken was not Montemplumage's greatest treasure, but actually his greatest nightmare. The chicken begins to grow in size as it continues to assault Donald while Scrooge and Della try to come up with a solution to stop the being.   Scrooge and Della uncover a room covered in ancient symbols. Scrooge was quickly able to learn what the symbols mean, recognizing them as the rules of a game and Della gets to work on trying to solve the puzzle. The two are able to solve the puzzle, but to their confusion and anger, it just seems to drop Cacao Beans from a vent located in a stone heads mouth. However, as Donald quickly realizes, the beans are magical and cause him to shrink after he eats them. Scrooge convinces the chicken to eat the Cacao Beans and causes it to also shrink. After several helpings of the beans, the chicken was small enough to fit in the cage. Sometime later, the trio is enjoying a train ride. Scrooge decides to keep the golden chicken as a keepsake.
Collision with Magica
At some point, Scrooge became involved with a long-running conflict against the sorceress Magica De Spell. This began after Scrooge was dragged by his own shadow to the castle shared by her and her brother Poe De Spell. Refusing to surrender his Number One Dime, and disgusted by the sorcerers' hoarding of stolen wealth, the billionaire determined to teach them a lesson. In spite of his skills, he proved to be little match for an angry Magica, who made multiple attempts to transform him into a helpless animal. On her final attempt, Scrooge held up his Number One Dime, which reflected Magica's blast back at her.     Poe jumped in front of Magica, and was thus transformed into a raven by the spell intended for Scrooge. Lacking the knowledge of how to return him to normal, Magica begged Scrooge for help in stopping the bird from flying away. Scrooge, however, was more interested in claiming some of the De Spells' hoard for himself, satisfied that Magica had learned better than to cross him in the future. This would not, in fact, be the case, and after failed attempts to locate her transformed brother Magica became one of Scrooge's deadliest adversaries.   Their rivalry seemingly culminated some fifteen years prior to Scrooge meeting his great-nephews, with Magica disappearing following a battle at Mount Vesuvius. But moments before Magica was trapped inside the Number One Dime she was able to create from her shadow a spy in a form of young girl named Lena.
Family Lost and Found
After going on numerous adventures together, Scrooge and his niece and nephew had traversed much of the world.   Eager to find new places to explore, Della conceived of a spaceship called the Spear of Selene. As Della had recently laid eggs that would hatch into her triplet sons Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Donald was opposed to the venture.   Scrooge, however, empathized with Della's desire and built the Spear in secret, intending to give it to Della as a surprise after the boys were born. Scrooge's plans went awry when Della discovered the Spear and took it for a test flight, during which he remained in communication with her. When she encountered a cosmic storm she continued with Scrooge's encouragement, but the ship was disabled and she was lost.   Devastated, Scrooge launched a massive search effort, spending large amounts of his own fortune and defying his board of directors in his determination to find her. Sadly, he never succeeded, and Donald-blaming Scrooge for his sister's loss-parted ways with his uncle, not speaking to him for ten years.   Unbeknownst to Scrooge, Della's learning of the Spear had been arranged by Bradford, as part of his ever-evolving scheme to undermine Scrooge and put an end to adventure throughout the world. As part of that same plan, Bradford sought a means of recovering the Papyrus of Binding, and so orchestrated Project 87 as a means of producing a "rightful heir" to Scrooge who would be able to retrieve it.   The first product of this attempt was a young Duck girl, whom Bentina Beakley discovered upon infiltrating F.O.W.L.'s headquarters in a bid to bring the criminal organization down once and for all.   Beakley took the infant, whom she named Webbigail Vanderquack, and brought her to McDuck Manor.   Scrooge swiftly welcomed his old friend and her ward into his home, completely unaware that the child was, in fact, genetically his own daughter.

Present Day

A Family Man Again
Ten years after Della's departure, Donald Duck reluctantly asked Scrooge to watch his three nephews while he went for a job interview at Glomgold Industries. The three boys accidentally released a number of supernatural enemies in his garage, including Captain Peghook, the Deus Excalibur, the Headless Man-Horse and Pixiu the gold-hunting dragon.   The fight with these enemies revived Scrooge's adventurous spirit, and he took his nephews (along with Mrs. Beakley's granddaughter Webby) on expeditions to various places, including Atlantis, Mount Neverrest, the Pyramid of Toth-Ra, the Links of Moorshire and Ithaquack.
Heartbreaking Truth
During the family travelling to Monacrow on Sunchaser the boys and Webby attempted to piece together shredded documents from the time of Della's disappearance, which was around the time the triplets were born, before Scrooge McDuck can find it. However, Scrooge, while flying the plane, crashes the Sunchaser into a peak, and one of the pieces slip away during turbulence. Unable to lift without damaging the engines, the airplane can't fly them off it, leaving the group suspended on top. Bentina Beakley then chides Scrooge for putting the kids in danger.   Noticing the piece slipped into the jeep's window, the kids distract Scrooge and Beakley while Dewey reaches for the piece. Launchpad McQuack misheard them and drives the jeep towards the other side of the Sun Chaser, causing the airplane to tilt towards the side and the plane door to open with Launchpad at the edge of it. Beakley gets the kids to the other side while Scrooge rescues Launchpad, but Scrooge orders the kids to stay in their seats for balance. Launchpad entertains the kids with a tape of Darkwing Duck stuck on the credits theme due to the crash until they can figure a solution. Scrooge confidently attempts to fix the plane against Beakley's concerns for the kids until Beakley pleads with Scrooge to admit he can't fix everything, leading Scrooge to instinctively say that nothing bad will happen to "her" before correcting himself.   Meanwhile, Dewey tries to retrieve the piece from the cockpit. Huey moves to the other side to counterbalance the plane as Webby coordinates the two in the right direction. Right when Dewey retrieves the piece, however, he is spotted by Scrooge and Beakley. Scrooge then demands Dewey give him the paper but it is blown away so Dewey chases after it into the cargo, and followed by Scrooge, where the added weight tips the plane to their side. Dewey then rushes to the piece where it has now flown out through the side window, and climbs on top of the plane once he realizes it is caught inside the right propeller. Dewey reaches for the piece with Scrooge close by trying to save him, but Dewey will only come back with him if he tells him the truth about the Spear of Selene.   Scrooge had to admitte the circumstances behind Della's disappearance, which he know so far: ten years ago, he, Donald, and Della were seasoned adventurers who had visited just about every possible location on the globe. Before the triplets hatched, Della wanted to embark on a journey to a new frontier — outer space. Donald thought the trip would be too risky with Della's sons about to hatch, and while the two argued about it for days, Scrooge built the rocket dubbed the Spear of Selene so he could reveal it to Della as a surprise when the triplets were born. Della, however, took the rocket on a test run before Scrooge could surprise her, and the photo of this event is on the very piece Dewey was retrieving. Della then braved into an unexpected cosmic storm, but despite her confidence and Scrooge's assistance through the radio, she was struck by a lightning bolt and stranded in space.   Unfortunately, the shocked and angry triplets and their friends were quick to accuse Scrooge of recklessness and refused to believe Scrooge's claims that he had done everything he could to try and find Della after she disappeared. That leads Scrooge to become frustrated with everyone while the Sun Chaser falls from the peak. Thankfully, the fall isn't too high and everyone on the plane survives, though Launchpad successfully crashes it a bit.   At the manor, Donald has successfully rebuilt the houseboat and sees the bitter triplets who inform him they learned the truth, and solemnly prepare to leave the manor. Webby, Beakley, and Duckworth take a vacation away from Scrooge who is scolded by Beakley before leaving. Now alone again, Scrooge, reminiscing his countless efforts and failures in trying to find Della while the other's accusations echo in his mind, coldly states he is happy this way, though his tears suggest otherwise.
The Shadow War
Three days later Magica De Spell, who is still was trapped inside the Number One Dime, began to infultraite now defenseless McDuck Manor. She did it by using Lena's body, who wasn't already wanted to help her "aunt" thanks to developing friendship with Webby. Lena resurfaces briefly to wrestle her body back from Magica, trying to stop her "aunt" from hurting Scrooge, but Magica's powers force her back into submission. Just then, Launchpad McQuack drives up to check on Scrooge who has secluded himself due to the family breaking up three days prior but Scrooge turns him down. Observing that the mansion has been abandoned, Magica has to pretend to be Lena and baits, Scrooge, into letting her in by reminding him of the triplet's broken impressions of him. With her opportunity to get the Number One Dime and have revenge on Scrooge now in progress, Magica comes right to the front door and is greeted by a slovent, disheveled Scrooge recovering from his fallout.   Magica is disappointed towards Scrooge's regression and comes to the conclusion that Scrooge's funk is all a trick, thus she decides to get the Dime when Scrooge is out cold. Masquerading as Lena, Magica tries to drug Scrooge, but Scrooge gets nostalgic and bitter towards the thought of his family that he accidentally drops the drugged tea- to Magica's chagrin. As the eclipse draws closer, Magica realizes Scrooge really has fallen into a depressive state so she talks him into returning to his original solo adventuring style.   Scrooge gets excited to start fresh and discards his belongings except for the Dime, which Magica becomes insistent over. When her attempts fail, she assaults the elderly duck for the Dime.   Scrooge and Lena/Magica fight for the Dime before Magica finally procures it just as the eclipse appears, bestowing upon her magic to free herself from the Dime. Alive and powerful once more, Magica traps Scrooge and Lena. While trapped, Lena complains about how terrible Magica is as a family and her wish to be in one like Scrooge's.   Scrooge sympathizes with Lena and agrees to welcome her into his if she helps him stop Magica. However, Magica cuts them off to absorb Lena into her shadow and trap Scrooge inside the Dime. Meanwhile on the houseboat Webby, Launchpad and Beakley attempts to guilt-trip the family by telling the triplets how Scrooge nearly went bankrupt looking for Della Duck and scolds them for making him feel more miserable for Della's loss. The dinner party soon concludes although the triplets, having caught onto the party's intention, still want to leave Scrooge behind, but Donald has second thoughts after Beakley's speech and declares their family has been apart for too long. The sentiment shared, the family finds it in their hearts to forgive Scrooge and set out to reunite with him. At that moment, the group hears a sudden explosion from outside, only to then witness Magica's shadow magic erupting from McDuck Manor.   Magica then uses her magic to bring forth a cascade of shadow monsters from everyone's shadow and amass over the Money Bin as Magica's new fortress.   Both Webby and Beakley fearfully identify Magica as the source. Webby explains that Magica was Scrooge's bitterest rival who met her defeat by Scrooge fifteen years ago in a battle for the Dime on Mount Vesuvius. The family is then joined by Gyro Gearloose, Manny the Headless Man-Horse, and Lil Bulb, having escaped from the destruction of the Money Bin.   Together they decide to fight against shadow army and save Scrooge.   However, Donald wants the kids to stay at the harbor to keep them safe from Magica, although the kids ignore his wished and set off to the Bin, starting by searching for Lena to help them.   At the amphitheater, the kids discover Lena's room underneath the stage. Finding her journal, the kids read an excerpt detailing Magica's defeat by Scrooge years ago and how Scrooge imprisoned her inside the Dime, which forced Magica's shadow to find refuge inside her staff (the talisman Lena wore) and spawned Lena from it. Webby is heartbroken because of the truth, but the others find a secret message detailing Magica's plan and learn they must free Scrooge from the Dime.   Magica then sees the oncoming attack on her and launches her counter-attack. The others take care of the shadows as the kids swim under to enter the Money Bin. Launchpad tries to crash the Sunchaser into the shadow mass on the Money Bin but gets swatted by it. When Donald's houseboat breaks down, Beakley fights off the shadows and promises to look after his boat as Donald swims the rest of the way to the Bin.   The kids manage to enter the Money Bin, but Magica's power creates more shadow duplicates in response to the intruders, so Dewey cuts off the power with Louie's retrieved khopesh to keep the lights off. Finding their way to Scrooge's office, the kids are confronted by shadow duplicates of the McDucks and Scrooge's enemies before Donald bursts in and takes them all down. Donald admits he purposefully told the kids to stay put so they would come and has them continue towards the Bin as he handles the other shadows.   Magica catches sight of the kids and blasts at them. To get to the Dime, the kids perform a strategic distraction to hold her off. Meanwhile, Donald faces off the Gizmoduck shadow. Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera joins Manny and Lil Bulb in their battle on the bridge, soon joined by Beakley after she sinks the houseboat. Launchpad steps out of the airplane onto the wings to take the shadows head-on.   In the battle against Magica, Huey distracts her by asking questions related to her while Louie tricks her into thinking she broke a cursed mirror. Webby personally engages Magica in honor of Lena before she and Dewey are tossed down and are about to be destroyed by the sorceress. However, Lena's residual magic draws enough strength from Webby's friendship bracelet to magically protect Webby from the blast and Lena briefly revives herself from Magica's shadow only for Magica to destroy her instead. An angered Webby fights Magica head-on, causing her to drop the Dime that Dewey then catches. Though Dewey tries to reconcile with Scrooge, he realizes they can't do so mid-battle. Magica blasts magic at Dewey but unwittingly aims for the Dime instead, freeing Scrooge and returning him from the Dime.   Scrooge then confronts and taunts Magica, thanking her for keeping his family together, disarming her with his cane, sending her staff flying, and it falls onto Donald's head and cracks, causing Magica to lose her magic and shadow army.   Magica bemoans her loss, right when Launchpad falls from above and crashes on top of her, forcing Magica to make a hasty escape.   Though the day is won, Webby mourns for the fallen Lena, although the triplets comfort her and state Lena will always be with her, not noticing the remnants of Lena now residing inside Webby's shadow.   The kids then happily reunite with Scrooge. Just after, Donald's voicebox breaks and he has his old voice returned. In celebration, the family then swims inside the gold.
Parting with Donald and Reunion with Della
After an adventure in Goat'hool with the willing Louie and the unwilling Donald, Scrooge decides to book a one-month cruise for Donald in the Caribbean and would not refund.   While Donald is supposedly on vacation, Scrooge and the kids who are about to adventure with the Cartographer's Quill are met by a surprising sight: Della Duck outside their home for the first time in ages.   Completely shocked by seeing his niece for the first time in 10 years, Scrooge promptly drops the Cartographer's Quill, shattering it to pieces. Scrooge quickly embraces Della in happiness, and Della brings him up to speed on her adventures on the Moon. Scrooge expresses pride in her survival, complimenting her prosthetic leg by adding how she's still every bit the woman she was ten years ago.   Della then greets her sons (despite initial shock that Donald named them "Huey, Dewey, and Louie" instead of her preferred names "Jet, Turbo, and Rebel") who all have different reactions to her arrival: Dewey immediately embraces her as his mother and bemoans the fact he could've been "Turbo"; Huey questions if she's really their mother by asking her a series of questions, all of which she answers correctly and reveals she also follows the Junior Woodchuck Guidebook rules, confirming her status; Louie has the most emotional reaction, initially refusing to believe the reunion is anything other than a trick, only to finally give in and embrace his mother. Webby watches from the sidelines and cries emotional tears over this long-awaited reunion.
Alien Invasion
A few months after Della's return Scrooge had to face a serious and unknown danger - invasion from the Moon which was a consequence of Della's pastime in this place. To his horror, golden replicas of the Spear of Selene are descending upon Duckburg as the Moonlanders invade the planet Earth.   On a news report from Roxanne Featherly, Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera in his Gizmoduck suit approaches one of the crafts and offers a Moonlander a pie as a peace offering. However, Gizmoduck's attempt at a friendly greeting is met with hostility as the Moonlander fires her weapon straight towards him, but Officer Cabrera saves him by shoving him to the ground. Immediately after the attack, further Moonlanders exit the ship and begin terrorizing the citizens, with the city quickly falling to their domination.   Scrooge, Della, Beakley, and the kids manage to reach the Money Bin by driving, but Della is flabbergasted about the invasion due to the Moonlanders coming off as nice when she last met them. Once inside, Scrooge orders Gyro to prepare his contingency plans, only to learn from Gyro that the Moonlanders have already disabled the plans, while acknowledging how thought out the invasion truly is. Lunaris then broadcasts to the city, declaring the Moonlanders' superiority as he seemingly lands a massive ship atop Killmotor Hill.   Hearing that the boys are among his targets, Scrooge and Della secretly agree to get them to safety. While Gyro sends Lil Bulb and several duplicates as a hidden transmission method to gather allies from across Duckburg, Della takes Webby and the boys on a plane ride with the Cloudslayer on the pretext of recruiting allies from around the globe.   Although the majority of Duckburg's citizens are captured, further allies who receive the message include Beakley, Johnny and Randy, Gabby McStabberson, Duckworth, Gyro, Manny, and Officer Cabrera (who reveals to Fenton her knowledge of her son's identity as Gizmoduck) as they then hold a meeting within the Money Bin. After a few harebrained proposals, Scrooge marshals his troops into an assault on Lunaris' flagship above Killmotor Hill.   Scrooge leads his forces into battle, and charges ahead with Launchpad and Darkwing while the others hold off the Moonlander guards. Beakley uses her martial arts skills to proceed the attack, Duckworth uses his Demonworth form to assist in the fight, Lena and Violet fend off the Moonlanders with their magic abilities, and Gabby and Quackfaster use their sword skills to disarm the Moonlanders. As officer Cabrera fights along side Gizmoduck, she encourages her son to cream the Moonlanders using his Lemon Meringue pies, which then attract Harpies to attack them. Gyro and his clones also attempt to assist in the fight, but the majority of the clones disintegrate from the attacks (and possibly the real Gyro as the clones aren't sure who the original one is).   Later Scrooge switches outfits with Darkwing in order to seem like less of a threat, with Launchpad dealing with security along side Darkwing, now dressed in Scrooge's clothes to mislead the Moonlanders by targeting him instead on the lawn of McDuck Manor.   Scrooge infiltrates the manor itself while dealing with poorly Moonlander soldiers Gibbous and Zenith. However, once he gets to the entrance ramp of Lunaris' ship, he realizes he fell into a trap after discovering the ship is a giant hologram.   Lunaris then reveals through a holographic screen that he predicted Scrooge's actions, and demonstrates the capture of most of Scrooge's allies and the Cloudslayer being shot down. He then lands his true flagship stationed in front of the Marina, a Planetary Engine designed to cause the Earth to begin orbiting the Moon, much to Scrooge's absolute shock.   Duckburg and the entire planet begins to freeze over due to Lunaris' engine moving the Earth, and Scrooge assembles at Chum's with Beakley, Manny, Launchpad, and Duckworth, his last remaining allies. Duckworth soon ditches the group and heads to the afterlife to "prepare places for them", while Scrooge is at a loss as to how to defeat Lunaris.   But here an unlikely—and unwelcome—help appears in the form of Flintheart Glomgold, who claims he has a plan of his own. Although Beakley points out that the majority of his plans have backfired severely on him in the past, Scrooge is forced to listen after realizing he has no good ideas left.   Scrooge and his few allies put up with Glomgold's inane plans and immature slideshow, having no real alternatives. But when Glomgold introduces them to a shark wearing a coat for his plan, Scrooge begins to lose faith in Glomgold. Glomgold calls upon Beakley to dress as a little boy to maintain the illusion while operating a giant slingshot. Launchpad places himself into a sphere shaped like a rock, which Beakley can then use the slingshot to send him into Lunaris' ship with the hopes of shutting down the engine. Having dressed several of his pet sharks in parkas, Glomgold sends them in under the iced over Audobon Bay to attack the supports of Lunaris' ship. Much to Scrooge's chagrin, he is sent to distract Lunaris by driving a Manny-drawn sleigh dressed as Santa Claus.   Lunaris catches on to Glomgold's plan through his monitors and is baffled. He then exits the ship and begins to question Scrooge on his embarrassing actions, but while Scrooge is reading from Glomgold's script, Glomgold himself surprises Lunaris by showing himself through the sack of gifts on the sleigh. However, Scrooge and Glomgold begin quarreling in front of Lunaris after Scrooge, as Santa, unwittingly gives Glomgold back his company due to a line he was forced to say through the script. Meanwhile Beakley manages to slingshot Launchpad into one of the control rooms of the mothership, where he destroys part of the controls including part of the rocket engine.   At the same time, Glomgold's sharks successfully weaken one of the ship's supports underwater, distracting Lunaris long enough for Scrooge to disable him from his gun. Scrooge, Glomgold and Manny then engage Lunaris in a hand-to-hand battle, but Lunaris proves to be the better fighter even against all three. He then attempts to make his way back to the ship's entrance, but Manny is able to Launch Scrooge towards Lunaris before he can. The battle continues as Lunaris proclaims his dominance over Earth with the planet Moon, but Glomgold points out that the Moon's not a planet, much to Lunaris' annoyance.   In the end, Lunaris manages to slam Glomgold to the ground hard enough to keep him down, while he shoves Scrooge towards the ship's wall and causes him to take a hard fall. Lunaris then approaches Scrooge once more and asks him for his last words, but as soon as he says that, Mitzy and the gang (consisting of Della, Donald, Fethry, Gladstone, Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby) aboard her arrive right in front of them.   Fethry then encourages Mitzy to begin pulling one of the ship's supports in order to destabilize the ship's angle towards the ground. This forces Lunaris leave Scrooge be and flee back into his ship, but Mitzy's strength is still not strong enough to break apart the ship's support.   Regardless, Gladstone's luck comes into play as he drops a slice of melon, which is caught by nearby seagulls, but dropped again in front of Launchpad. This leads the seagulls to attack Launchpad and cause him to unknowingly pull a lever that releases the support Mitzy was trying to pull, as he then falls out of the ship before it begins tumbling over. Taking advantage of its still active thruster, Mitzy catches the falling craft and aims it back towards the moon. Both Scrooge's group and everyone aboard Mitzy share a brief reunion, but during which time Lunaris regains control of the ship.   Determined to now achieve victory no matter the cost, Lunaris decides to destroy the Earth if he cannot conquer it by rotating it around the moon, which the other Moonlanders hear and realize they are the bad guys. Seeing this, Della spots a nearby invasion ship and boards it with a small crew consisting of Donald, Scrooge, Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby. They then fly the ship into space in order to stop Lunaris from going through with his evil plan.   With Scrooge acting as the commander, the kids acting as gunners and Donald and Della fighting over the controls, the Ducks attempt to halt Lunaris' mothership. Through brief avoidance of Lunaris' laser turrets, Della ultimately takes full control over the ship and flies it straight up, as she then dives down towards the top surface of Lunaris' ship to disable his turrets. She then makes a U-turn and heads beneath the ship while destroying further turrets, as they then approach the back of the ship to destroy Lunaris' thruster engine. Unfortunately, this proves to be another trap by Lunaris as he then activates hidden laser turrets surrounding the thruster. The group's lasers were then shot, as Della tries to fly their ship away but every time she tries, their ship only gets more and more damaged.   Knowing they were now trapped, Lunaris increases his thruster's power in order to overheat their ship and inevitably cause it to be destroyed. However, just as Lunaris is about to proclaim victory, another ship on his radar appears on alert and is seen coming his way. Penumbra then appears in the original Spear of Selene and crashes into Lunaris' thruster, crippling his ship. Although the Spear of Selene is destroyed, Penumbra luckily survives the explosion and is picked up by the family with their invasion ship, as they fly into the Earth's orbit and make their way back to Duckburg.   Meanwhile Lunaris attempts to activate his ship's backup engines, only to realize Glomgold's sharks have eaten away at the ship's circuitry. Selene then appears in front of him and informs him, much to his dismay, that not only has Storkules gotten Earth back into orbit with his strength, but the mothership he is aboard has now become the Earth's second moon. Back on Earth, the freed citizens of Duckburg and the heroes gather in celebration of their victory, after the Moonlanders release them all from their capture once realizing their leaders evil intentions. While Launchpad becomes smitten with Penumbra, Scrooge becomes annoyed with Glomgold after claiming he defeated Scrooge to everyone, even though they were on the same team. In the end the Ducks grow confident that they can face any future unknown difficulties as a family, as they and their allies join together for one final group shot.   Unbeknownst to them, they are being observed by Bradford Buzzard and the Board of Directors, who prove to be the High Command of F.O.W.L. The meeting also consists of Gandra Dee, Jeeves, a cryo-frozen John D. Rockerduck, Steelbeak, Phantom Blot (disguised as a Funso mascot), and Black Heron. Bradford Buzzard and The Board of Directors then claim the pieces are now in place, and that it's time for them to step out of the shadows.   Bradford, after being tired of Scrooge and his family threatening his plans through their adventures, now intend to give the family their last adventure ever.
Search for Finch's Treasures
A few months after Moonvasion Scrooge and his family attended the the Calisota Junior Woodchuck Graduation. After it Scrooge discovered a map that was originally thought to be a part of the portrait of Isabella Finch. Scrooge states she was a legend when he was a kid, and he read about many of her adventures in one of the only books he had, The Collected Adventures of Isabella Finch. Scrooge believes Isabella hid the map on the painting so future adventurers could follow in her steps.   Some time later Scrooge and his family were able to find Isabella's lost adventure journal. Scrooge states the journal contains information of all the adventures she's been on for future generations to learn about. They then discover pages involving legends even Finch couldn't find - Missing Mysteries. Knowing that her journals contain resourceful information, Huey believes the journal can help them discover some of the greatest lost mysteries of all time.   While Scrooge and the rest of the gang show their excitement for new adventures to come, it is revealed that the mosquito bothering Donald for a long time is actually a mechanical spy bug. Its camera is seen being shown to agents of F.O.W.L. including Gandra Dee, Black Heron, Phantom Blot, and the Board of Directors. Through the camera, Black Heron points out their discovery to a journal holding access to the most mysterious relics lost to time, with Bradford adding that the race is on.   In following time Scrooge and his family were able to find most of Missing Mysteries: Gene the Genie's lamp, The Lost Harp of Mervana and The Fountain of the Foreverglades. But some of the artifacts already were in F.O.W.L. possetion such as The Third Eye Diamond and The Solego Circuit.   After the discovery at St. Canard that F.O.W.L. is back, that it was run by Bradford and they are out to get Scrooge, the Duck Family decides to take extra precautions to take on the evil organization. Mrs. Beakley informs the children that F.O.W.L. was thought to have been destroyed decades previously by S.H.U.S.H. Several possible F.O.W.L. agents are discussed, but none are identified as actual operatives.   At the Money Bin, Scrooge has Louie and Della test out his new defense system dubbed the "Impossibin", which he hopes will be effective enough against F.O.W.L. They head into the first room, which is a hall filled with chainsaws and blades coated in ultraviolet lights, making it impossible to see. Della and Louie attempt to navigate through the corridor. Scrooge is satisfied, but cannot turn off the defense system after he forgets the password; trapping them in the room. They discover that the room is powered by a Little Helper Bulb and when criticized, briefly turns the room red and use it to escape.   The trio travel from room to room until they end up in a library covered in Rosa Runes. When they step on one, their force of gravity changes. They manage to escape the room and move on. Throughout the entire ordeal, Scrooge continues voicing his disapproval over how they are easily able to solve each of the rooms. Louie and Della criticize him for this as they are trying to stay alive and get out. They eventually reach the main office where they face a robot version of Scrooge that transforms and attacks them. They manage to defeat this, too with Scrooge once again angered.   The robot is taken over by Bradford Buzzard who tells them that he is able to hack it with the help of Gandra Dee. He also reveals that Scrooge did not forget the password, but Bradford, through his hacking, had actually changed it. He uses the robot to attack the three who navigate through the bin to escape it. Eventually, they make it back to the money bin where Scrooge and the robot fight on the ceiling due to the gravity runes. As they fight, Louie distracts the robot into blasting a rune straight towards Scrooge's fortune, causing it to rise and crush the robot while Scrooge swims through it to safety. Louie and Della inform Scrooge that nothing can stop them because they are adventurers and can face anything. Unfortunately for the Ducks, this attack proves to be intended as a distraction, as various operatives steal Missing Mysteries previously located by them. Immediately after awareness of this Scrooge decides not to play in defense but to direct attacking against F.O.W.L. and continuing for search of the remaining Missing Mysteries.   The Ducks, feeling empowered by their recent adventure, know that they will do everything they can to beat F.O.W.L.   Later Scrooge and his family were able to find and secure from F.O.W.L. following Missing Mysteries: the Sword of Swanstantine, the Blessed Bagpipe of Clan McDuck and the Stone of What Was (the piece of the last artifact still fell into the F.O.W.L. hands).
Fighting F.O.W.L and HUGE Revelation!
A few months after the discovery that F.O.W.L. is back, at Funso's Fun Zone, the Duck family and various friends and associates are in the midst of celebrating Webby's birthday. As the partiers gather for cake, they are observed by F.O.W.L., now joined by Don Karnage, who quickly realize that something is amiss. Sure enough, B.O.Y.D., Lena and Gosalyn Waddlemeyer take out F.O.W.L.'s cameras, and the group spring into action. Scrooge, Donald, Della, the nephews, Webby, Beakley, Darkwing Duck, Launchpad, and Gizmoduck make their way into the ballpit, which conceals the entrance to F.O.W.L. headquarters.   Huey explains that Launchpad has been talking in his sleep, and has determined that the pilot somehow knows the complete layout of the secret base. Based on Huey's plan, Scrooge and the kids go to find the "Missing Mysteries of Isabella Finch" while Donald, Della, Launchpad, Gizmoduck, and Darkwing set out to capture F.O.W.L. However, the two teams soon determine that the base is virtually empty of personnel, with the Missing Mysteries nowhere to be found. Startlingly, they come across two young Duck girls in a pair of tubes. Upon returning with them to McDuck Manor, they are able to verify that the pair, who introduce themselves as May and June, are in fact clones of Webby.   Beakley forbids the kids to interact with the clones, but Webby is naturally curious about the clones and lets them out of the room where Beakley locks them for safekeeping. Huey, meanwhile, struggles with the failure of the raid against F.O.W.L. that he planned, even snapping at Beakley, who refuses to answer him or Scrooge regarding what she knows about F.O.W.L.   Scrooge tries to speak to Beakley only to find her preparing to leave to face F.O.W.L. alone. He tries to talk her out of it, but she knocks him out before departing. May and June admit that they were tasked with obtaining the last two Missing Mysteries, and that Bradford will only answer their questions once they complete their assigned mission. Webby refuses to go along with them, and May takes the two artifacts while tasking June with subduing Webby. The clone gains the upper hand using the potion Webby took from Black Heron, and seemingly subdues Webby.   Donald and Della get back from their shopping trip, Donald rocking his favored blue sailor suit, only to be crowded by Scrooge, Dewey, and Louie with news of Beakley, Huey, and Webby's absences. Having learned that Huey has left his Junior Woodchuck Guidebook behind, Donald is convinced that this is not an attempt by the family to make him stay, and becomes determined to join in one final adventure.   Back at the manor, Scrooge prepares to leave to confront F.O.W.L. aboard the Sunchaser, and makes a brief attempt to stop Dewey, Louie, Lena, Violet, B.O.Y.D., and Gosalyn from coming along. He soon relents, and the six join him, Donald, Della, Launchpad, Drake, Fenton, Gyro, and Manny aboard the plane.   The Sunchaser arrives at the library, and Scrooge's team parachutes down, only to scatter in various directions, with Scrooge and his niece and nephew facing a horde of Eggheads.   Scrooge, Donald, and Della prove more than a match for the Eggheads, but face a more difficult challenge when Rockerduck ages Jeeves back to his massive adult size.   Scrooge, Donald, and Della struggle against Jeeves, but defeat him with the surprise aid of an Egghead who turns out to be a disguised Beakley. Unfortunately, just as Scrooge has informed Beakley that F.O.W.L. has Webby, they pair are attacked and subdued by May and Black Heron.   Scrooge awakens tied to a chair and is approached by Bradford, who notes that Scrooge's other friends and relatives have similarly been captured. Bradford explains to Scrooge his origins as Isabella Finch's grandson/first Junior Woodchuck, which really surprised and shocked Scrooge. Bradford while being oblivious to Scrooge's surprise continued his story by saying that because he has been traumatized by the adventures with his grandmother in his youth, Bradford has a fanatical hatred of adventure and chaos and is determined to destroy them.   First he tried to do that at S.H.U.S.H, when at F.O.W.L. and even as CEO of Scrooge's company. Bradford argued that only in the last thirty years there have been events such as flying bears, bouncing bears, living statues and the entire squad of goofs, misfits and adventurers. And all these events over the past century had one man in common - Scrooge McDuck himself. Then Bradford said that he tried to restrain and isolate Scrooge, but his adventures only got bigger as did his family.   Eventually Bradford admitted that he can't stop Scrooge, but he can make a deal with Scrooge, at the same time specifying that he is a businessman, not a villain, once again showing his denial of his own nature.   But then to Bradford's surprise Scrooge breaks free from his bonds, in passing that Bradford is worthless as Junior Woodchuck because of his terrible knots, and attacks him. However, Bradford gains a set of mystical armor from the Sword of Swanstantine and fights back with words "Now, on to new business!". Scrooge and Bradford battle through the library, and during that fight Bradford reveals that he was secretly the one who leaked to Della that Scrooge had built the Spear of Selene. In doing so he is revealed to have helped cause the traumatic incident that broke up Scrooge's family and led the events of the first two seasons, for the successful purpose of breaking Scrooge's will for a number of years.   Scrooge, in an act of rage, tried to strike Bradford but mighty vulture captures him and throws him through the roof. Arriving on the library roof, Scrooge sees Beakley, Donald, and Della captive and learns that the boys and Webby have also been captured.   Bradford threatened Scrooge, that his family would be thrown into the Solego Votex, which eliminates everything that gets into it from existence, and offers him a deal: Scrooge can return home with his family, but only if he signs a contract written on the Papyrus of Binding to never adventure again.   When Scrooge points out that getting rid of adventure and chaos would mean disposing of his own personnel, Bradford callously throws the rest of the Board of Directors and Black Heron into the Solego Vortex.   Scrooge, needing a strategy, attempts to delay his signing of the contract, but Bradford threatens to throw Donald into the vortex so Scrooge reluctantly agreed to sign it and to give up.   Donald tries to dissuade Scrooge from it convincing that he can beat Bradford, but Scrooge replies that it's not worth of his nephew's death and signs the contract.   Now after Scrooge's constriction by magical chains, Bradford declares that he won: "The Great Scrooge McDuck is now just poor old man". Immediately after that, much to Scrooge's, Della's and Beakley's shock and horror, Bradford finally gives in his villainous nature and prepares to throw Donald in vortex anyway. But suddenly, much to their relief and Bradford's anger, the vortex deactivated as Scrooge's rescued allies in the form of Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, May, June, Gyro, Gandra and Ludwig arrive.   Furious, Bradford goes after Scrooge while screaming "NO! No more adventures!" but is stopped by Webby, who tells the Buzzard to "Get away from my dad!" much to Scrooge's shock. As the heroes try to save Scrooge, the Sword of Swanstantine amplifies Bradford's inner evil into an increasingly monstrous form.   As Bradford saw it, he started to blame the Ducks for his transformation into a base villain, still denying his own villainous nature, which is now more than obvious. He attempts to blast the still defenseless Scrooge, but Donald puts up a barrier and is joined in holding it by Della, Webby, Dewey, Beakley, and the reformed May and June.   As they back Bradford's power Huey and Louie analyze Bradford's contract, and discover a loophole: it says Scrooge can have his family if he gives up adventure; however, as the McDucks always say, "family is the greatest adventure of all". Bradford said it was the stupidious thing he had ever heard and expressed great doubts that this could work as a loophole. But contrary to his expectations the contract disintegrates, losing its validity, and Bradford in horror and despair trying to catch its remains loses the sword and is left powerless. He screams in despair that he will not lose to Scrooge, but Scrooge himself replies, that Bradford lost not to him but to his family - all of them.   After that Bradford tried to escape only to be caught by Magica, Glomgold, and the Beagles waiting for him. Ma Beagle expressed her disappointed displeasure not believing that Bradford was Scrooge's greatest villiain. Glomgold adds that Bradford not even wearing a kilt. Bradford desperately tried to beg for mercy by saying that he is not a villain. Magica ironically confirms that he is definitely not a villain and then turns him into an ordinary Buzzard, and Scrooge's adversaries then depart rather than face his family, both genetic and found.   After that Scrooge and his entire family began to celebrate the victory over F.O.W.L. and during that Scrooge questions Webby about her use of word "dad", which she repeats, with the nephews confirming her words. More than pleased, Scrooge pulls her into a hug calling her "Webby darling".   As Beakley fears Webby will reject her she leaves but is quickly reassured she will still have a place in their family. Shortly after, Scrooge, Webby, Beakley, Della, Donald and the boys reunite with warm hug.   Scrooge, proving as overprotective a father figure as his nephew, is calmed by the assurances of his great-nephews and newfound daughter.
