Stoneborn
The Crooked Moon
Stoneborn are a gargoyle-like species native to Pholsense, usually meticulously carved by the lord of the province, Archbishop Danton Alexandre Renault. Blessed by the divine power known as the Silver Path, these people can call upon the godliness that suffuses their construction. In a domain of darkness, they have looked to the light of their god to build a civilization that attempts to uphold what is good and lawful at all costs.
This species appears as living gargoyles with stony skin that have the same hue and pattern as the stone they were carved from. While all of their kind have broad wings that carry their dense, heavy bodies, their biology can evoke a wide variety of creatures including bats, fiends, dragons, birds, angels, dogs, lizards, and more, often combining a chimeric blend of features for a widely diverse-looking people. They usually live to 300 before crumbling into rubble.
