21: Books and Goo: The Flapjack controversy

General Summary

• The Party at the top of the clock tower was now joined by Keisuke who had a similar experience
• Radon continues to hear the echos of a heart beating coming from the tower. 
• The party descended down the tower to the ground floor.
• The tour continued to the dorm where they got to see a standard room where they were offered to stay.
• They then went to the library where they got to see the very wide selection of books that they had available. including all the spells available
• Then they found something interesting
• after some investigating they found some books on the creatures of the mist. not public knowledge. a full dissection of one of the smaller ones
• It showed that 1: they do not have any internal organs their mouth leads to nothing. 2: they do in fact possess eyes however this too is covered in a layer of muscle and flesh.
• Another cult member came by and began whispering to Concerta. she and Houris went to a nearby book isle to discuss. 
• Gaelin went full rogue and got a massive stealth check to read the lips of the group
• He got the general gist that something was wrong and that a few people are missing.
• The party was escorted out of the library where they asked if they wanted to stay at the dorm. they accepted the offer
• Lola and Radon shared a room Keisuke and Gaelin got two separate rooms. 
• They convened and spoke via notes about how they should scout out the tower
• Keisuke used his familiar in the form of a bat, and he moved to the tower.
• After the familiar cast identify the party learned that the tower is not in fact magical , and that it is made of stone from Aurland.
• Keisuke informed everyone. The party  then went to sleep
• After waking up the party went to the dining hall where they began loudly discussing what a flapjack and pancake were.
• A cultist introduced themselves as Vandria. then began asking them questions a bit roboticly about their personal skills and abilities.
• After the assessment they offered a choice. they could go for more easy work such as cooking or cleaning. or they could get paid and do some more risky work.
• The party being dnd characters went for the money and danger.
• The 3 missing persons that were the last in the storm drains are: a relatively large kenku male, a standard height long haired female human, and a Yuan Ti male with heterochromia of standard build.
• They were informed to report to a specific manhole in the campus as to be let in to the storm drains where 3 previous runners had been lost to unknown reasons.
• Lola and Keisuke stopped by a general store and got some items that may help.
• Then they went to the manhole where they were greeted by a surprised guard. unaware they were sending a full team this time.
• The party also was informed that one of the chronomancy tomes that one of these couriers possesed should be recovered if possible. though he expressed doubts saying that it probably was washed out of the system into the river.
• The party descended into total darkness. leading them to use their methods of lighting their way
• They began exploring.
• First they found some green slime at the end of a corridor. they avoided it
• They continued until they saw something shift up to the ceiling at the edge of their light
• upon examining that whatever it was escaped into a pipe Lola cast heat metal. causing whatever was in there great pain and causing it to scurry off most likely very wounded.
• They continued to the end of this hallway where they found one of the Crawlers from the mist almost entirely hallowed out from the inside and filled with this green goo.
• Keisuke took a sample using gloves and a flask. they used identify through their gloves and learned the name of the creature inside that thing as an oblex spawn.
• As they turned to leave they saw for a brief second a humanoid shape looking back at them before it vanished with a sharp movement in a bling of an eye
