The Godsfall

The most recent of the Falls at the start of the campaign, the Godsfall was Ao, the Urgod 's declaration that too many of the Deity had become negligent in their duties, and would need to atone and redeem themselves in His eyes to restore their divinity. Each of the gods was sent down to a place connected to them, often with cataclysmic results. To ensure that no deity attempted to return before their time, Helm, God of Guardians was sent to guard the gates of the heavens, retaining his divine longevity and nourishment to be able to perpetually perform these duties until all of the former purviews had been claimed or reclaimed, at which his duty would be considered fulfilled and he too could return to ascendancy.

Historical Basis

While many different cultures have views on this event specific to themselves, often having to do with which Deity fell closest to them, the core events are entirely accurate, though it is unclear if any know what the true motives of Ao were in this action, if any exist and are knowable by others at all.
